Just an observation I have always had with Carnival, since my first cruise... I HATE that there are no paper towels in the bathroom. I can't stand using the air dryers. I know they reduce waste, keep from killing trees, and are more sanitary they say, but I can't stand the air.

I also know that a big priority is to keep from spreading germs and they do have the small napkins to use to pull the door open and a trash can waiting outside the door to deposit it in. However...I'm still trying to figure out why they haven't switched to motion controlled water sensors? You have to turn the water on with dirty hands right? With no napkins, you turn them off with clean hands. Yes, I know you use your elbow or something else...but I would just think that they would be motion by now. I watched people during the cruise 1) not wash their hands at all, 2) turn it on with their hands and back off with their clean hands, 3) just run their hands under the water with no soap. I've had noro from a cruise before...it's not fun! If only everyone would experience it once, there wouldn't be a soul on there not washing their hands!!

Never once seen anyone use these and there were several that hand nothing in them.

I still think Carnival falls short to the sanitary/hand washing problem compared to NCL. At least NCL has a person standing at the entrance of the buffet squirting your hands down as you enter. NCL also has a person, doing the same thing, when you enter the ship.

Our complimentary pond/lake of water they provide each time we return below. Everyone knows how I feel about water, but I'm trying to get better. I actually brought my "grape flavored/added caffeine powder with me this time for water. My son swears this is the best tasting water he has ever had (and he works at a grocery store and has tried it all).

Our welcome aboard free drinks. It kinda sucks that you can only use these on the last day of the cruise and only after 5pm. I wonder what the reason is for that? I really appreciate that they also give one to Sakari. She enjoys getting a "big girl" drink too.

Our ship pin. It's too bad they don't have the ship names on them like NCL has. Nevertheless I still put them in my scrapbook.

Info on the Carnival Hub App. I enjoy this app for checking my balance, logging on to the internet, and also looking at "what's going on".

P4211580%20copy-L.jpg

We did get the internet package for the week. It was $136 for the 8 days. I don't think this is a bad price at all. Carnival still remains cheaper than NCL. We NEED to stay connected due to the hubby's business. I "want" to stay connected to my kids back home and know what's going on. So, we always get the full plan.

This is what logging on looks like from the phone. It can be done using the app or going online.

This is my favorite part of the app...pushing this button at any given moment. hehehehehe NCL, you have to actually log out for the other person to get on. Carnival...nope, just push that button.

All of the elevators have paintings on the ceilings:

P4221607%20copy-L.jpg

One thing I found hilarious is this trim they had around the doors and inside the elevators:

P4221608%20copy-L.jpg

It resembled a sticker...but you really didn't know. I touched it multiple times to see if it was real and stuck out...yes, yes it did. I wasn't the only person doing this. I found multiple people during the cruise do the exact same thing. I didn't feel so odd after all.

P4221609%20copy-L.jpg

Advertisements in the elevators...needless to say, during Spring Break, you would find these 1) missing and then later returned or 2) hung upside down.

P4221611%20copy-L.jpg

I would find myself reciting this phrase during the entire cruise. For some reason when you stand by the buttons, you have a habit of looking at stuff around it...and in awkward moments with other people on the elevator, you read this sign over and over each trip.

All I could think of is if this elevator went dark...how do they expect you to find the phone to call someone?

Some "Extras"

The water slide (I did not try it, but Sakari did and said it was super slow and she had no desire to go back on it again after 3 tries).

There's a bit of a trick to it, which works for most slides anywhere. :)

Lay on your back, arch your back a bit and ride (mostly) on the backs of your ankles and your elbows to reduce friction. It works...almost too well on Conquest's slide, in fact. :o

I tried the slide the usual way and it WAS kinda slow and draggy....so I invoked the trick.

It was VERY FAST....fast enough that the kid who rode it right before me said I had slid really high up on the last curve. It was so much faster than the first time that the end took me by surprise and I got water up my nose. :D

Deck 10 Smoking section.

For those that smoke or those that want to avoid smoke...This is the section. I have to say that I have never seen such a large area dedicated to smokers. It was the entire deck down from the door you walk out in the back until right before the steps to go down to the main pool basically. There's a lot of lounge chairs, chairs, wicker chairs by the railing with umbrellas and a huge section of the comfy wicker chairs and padding and tables as well. I'm not sure if it's like this on every Conquest class ship or not. I believe you could also smoke on deck 3 and then of course the casino...which I noticed was at every slot machine and half the bar. The only area that was non-smoking in the casino was the table and chairs along the side walkway and the other half of the bar. One draw-back was that to get up to that area, you were walking up the steps. The elevators on that side did not go up that far and stopped at deck 9.

I believe that all Conquest class ships are like this. I've been on the Glory twice and the decks/spaces are the same as you mentioned and this area on Deck 10 looks exactly the same. Although, it did take me until the last sea day on my 2nd cruise on her to realize that the smoking section extended all the way to the mid-ship pool loungers! I don't think I ever saw but one or two people smoking in that area and I thought they were breaking the "rules" when I did see them :p

Ok, this last round of photos (and there will be quite a few) are the pictures found in all of the staircases, some of the hallways, and others of pictures they have hanging up all over the ship.

I usually do this "run" on the last day of the cruise to make sure I get them all.

So...here we go.

Hallways:

This was our hallway. You could see this bunny right as soon as you looked toward our hallway after getting off the ship. For the first few days, that's how I knew I had turned into the correct hallway on the right side of the ship. lol

Also outside of the kids club was this little area. I'm not sure it was ever being used. There looked to be a window there to maybe "order" something in the past? Anyone know what this could have been?

On Conquest, I'm not sure, but it looks like it was a bar at one time. But on the other Conquest Class ships, this area is where the Serenity area is and Serenity has a bar. This definitely looks like it could have been a bar at one point. I can't believe that dome in the middle of the basketball court!!! Liberty doesn't have that there, so plenty of room for basketball (and volleyball). I don't know about Glory or Valor though. We also had a hard time finding the deck where the funnel/mini golf are at. It was actually our third cruise on a Conquest class that we figured it out. But we weren't looking very hard either.

I know you do this for every cruise you go on, but it's so nice to finally see a lot of pictures of the interior of Conquest and she's not a bad looking ship. Conquest is one of the two Conquest class we have not been on yet. We've been on Glory, Valor, and Liberty twice, so I can visualize very well with your pictures and the exact locations. As usual, I am really enjoying following along and looking forward to the rest. We've never been to DR, A or C either and this is an itinerary my hubby would like to do. It's the numerous sea days that have me hesitating, but your review could push me in that direction. Did you see that on some sailings in 2018 (April - August), they've added Dominica on Fascination's itinerary out of San Juan? Six ports, no sea day. I'm working on some major arm twisting of hubby. We also love beaches and aren't into the toury stuff. Maybe someday but not now.

The lights in the pool changed at night and was really pretty.

Ummm...apparently there were 2 different Conquests that did this itinerary last week because the one that I was on didn't seem to have a retractable roof over this area! I wish I was on the same ship that you were on because I would have LOVED to have seen this!!!! Darnit!!!!

I'm going back to lurker mode but before I do, I will add that my kids love arcades :p. We go to the boardwalk at home often to play in the arcades. Only reason we didn't play in the one on the Conquest was because it was small and whenever I thought it was a good time to go, it was too crowded. Again, we obviously were on the other Conquest sailing last week lololol.

Great review!! Keep it coming!

Few questions as I board this ship in 8 days!!! YIPPEE!!!

Build A Bear I only saw for one day.......that was it? And how were the prices for Build A Bear?

As far as the photos......how much were the photos that you bought? I love that at 3 photos you get a free 8x8 Shutterfly book. I do a book for every trip and just curious if you make your money back on that one.
