XJokerX Posted June 17, 2017 Author #26 Share Posted June 17, 2017 On board and ready for some fun. Dropping off luggage and getting through check in was as simple and quick as it always has been. We ended up walking through the "suite" boarding hallway, even though we aren't in one, which brings you to the same place as the regular boarding area. Planned on going to bumper cars but got caught up. I will try to check them out at some point. And then the skies opened up Lunch time! Sasksilver Posted June 17, 2017 #28 Share Posted June 17, 2017 Following, My trip on the Anthem isn't until January 2019 (12 nt S Caribbean out of of New York). The Schooner sounds a place I'll want to spend some time in...beer and trivia! If they have one and you get a chance, could you post a list of the beers they generally have on offer? Have fun!!! Sent from my SM-G930V using Forums mobile app Usually they have lobster on formal night which is night 2. I'll take a look at the menu but won't be in the main dining room for dinner in night 2. XJokerX Posted June 18, 2017 Author #34 Share Posted June 18, 2017 Dinner was at chops tonight. We wanted wonderland but chops was pretty good. It's hard to compare apples to oranges We sampled a majority of their appetizers. Here are the beef carpaccio and the dungeoness crab and shrimp cake. Both were tasty. And then my dinner. Plate did not arrive this way. I had a med-rare filet and we all shared the sides. They are served family style. Sorry for my lack of desert pictures but everyone enjoyed their desserts. SailingSal Posted June 18, 2017 #35 Share Posted June 18, 2017 Did you get a special dinner package and that is why you did Chops the first night? Were you assigned Chops? We are doing the special 2 nights for the first 2 nights and was wondering . . .;)

We are doing the special 2 nights for the first 2 nights and was wondering . . .;) We have the BOGO dining package. We were hoping for Wonderland but they have a small seating area and they were booked both of the first two nights. mdaviswv Posted June 18, 2017 #37 Share Posted June 18, 2017 Current offerings Sent from my iPhone using Forums Kind of surprised to see O'Douls is their only NA option? Have you noticed if that is par for the course throughout RC? NCL typically at least has Buckler which I've grown to appreciate over the years. Thanks. VickiD59 Posted June 18, 2017 #38 Share Posted June 18, 2017 Can't wait to hear more - we leave for this same cruise on 7/15. Our youngest son and gf just got home yesterday from the 9nt Caribbean itinerary. We did the 7nt on Breakaway and loved the two night docking in Bermuda; we only get the one overnight this time. We've never been on a cruise that's only 5 nights - we just have to squeeze in all the fun faster I guess.
XJokerX Posted June 18, 2017 Author #39 Share Posted June 18, 2017 Went to the MDR to check tonight's menus and did not see Lobster on the menu except for the upcharged one. However there was a menus listing saying "select fish" or something of that sorts. I won't be eating in the MDR tonight so I will ask around. Played our first round of trivia and managed 13/21. Top teams had 18, but we are just warming up. Will be heading up to NorthStar shortly so I will have some pictures of the open ocean for you all soon. XJokerX Posted June 18, 2017 Author #40 Share Posted June 18, 2017 So up in the bubble we went. Wind was blowing at 38 knots which is about 44mph. A bit shaky which made it a bit of a thrill. Tom thinks we should be in the Guinness book of world records for the highest viewing of a cricket match at sea. They were showing it on the poolside TV. XJokerX Posted June 19, 2017 Author #45 Share Posted June 19, 2017 Took an 1130 ferry over to St. George's. The ride takes about 40 minutes and it was great to see all of the sailboats and yachts in Bermuda for the Americas Cup racing. There were some cool sights in St. George but nothing to really write home about. Got to see the town criers performance, dunking included! XJokerX Posted June 20, 2017 Author #46 Share Posted June 20, 2017 It has taken three days to find this, but I give you the first installment of food in random places. Last trip people were leaving their crap everywhere and I have to say the crew has really been on top of it. njmomof2 Posted June 20, 2017 #49 Share Posted June 20, 2017 Glad to see a report of the current 5 night sailing. I have first time cruise clients on this sailing and it was sad to know that they sailed out in the rain on Saturday. Good to see that you're having decent weather in Bermuda. Hope that they are enjoying themselves. Guess I'll find out when they get back.

Just drizzled a bit upon sail away with an isolated storm that is currently obscuring our view of the island.
