Cloudnine I am very happy to see a fellow Kentuckian with the same addiction as I have.

my wife and I went on the triumph back 2 back right after you guys we went on jan 12th 5 day and the following 4 day we had a blast.

I am a fellow Kentuckian as well that has fallen in love with Cruising. My husband and I took our first Cruise in January 2016 and then we took the kids with us in May 2017. Don't have another one booked yet but definitely planning through everything in my head already for a Spring 2018 Cruise.

16 Cruises and 98 days at sea.

And you know it's bad when you try and turn every vacation into a cruise. We're going to Orlando for BFs softball tournament. I'm trying to figure out maybe I can go for two weeks and cruise out of Port Canaveral the 2nd week. SMH!!!:D

I think you've hit the nail on the head there! DH and I got tickets to a concert in Orlando in August, and I started looking at cruises out of Port Canaveral - what do you know, there's one that leaves the day after the concert! Annnnnnd booked! :D

We've also got tickets to a concert in Mobile in September - again, started looking for a cruise - and discovered Fantasy (and a casino Premier cruise, nonetheless!) leaves the next day. Also, booked. :D

Hooked? Me? Naaaaaaah.

I am 47 years old and over the years I often thought or taking a cruise but never did till April 2010. It was a short 5 day out of Mobile on the Fantasy.

To put it mildly I was addicted from the moment I saw the ship from the hotel the morning of the cruise. My wife and I had a wonderful time on that first cruise and even now we still love the Fantasy.

since that first cruise in 2010 we have been on a total of 10 cruises and have 2 more booked.

I only wish that I had discovered cruising years ago.

I am truly addicted to cruising. If I don't have a future cruse booked it drives me crazy, I can't sleep, eat, or think straight. I will sit for hours in front of a computer looking at ships and ports until I hit the book now button and get my fix, then the slow countdown to the cruise date begins.

once the cruise is over the whole process starts again. I see no hope of a cure. all I can do is treat the symptoms with more days at sea.

I assume that many here suffer from the same addiction, if so how long can you go without having a future cruise booked???

OMG !! A 'REAL' cruise addict!?!? LOL !! YOU, Sir, remind me of my wife, after our first cruise out of Mobile in March of 2007 on the CCL Holiday( a raft sized ship, compared with the Mega ships sailing today) but after being on the Holiday 15 minutes, my wife was like you . HOOKED ! She had fought me for seven years AGAINST even discussing or thinking, much less actually taking a cruise. She had seen that moronic television show, 'Love Boat' and thought that was HOW all people dressed and acted on a cruise, like rich know it all snobs. After only 15 minutes, during the sailaway party, she happily exclaimed, ' WHEN can we do THIS again!!' I laughingly told her that she might wanna wait, we hadn't even left the dock yet. But she would NOT be denied, and we always did at least 2 cruises every year after, till 2015 when we cut back to just one a year. But she still takes the cheerleader lead when it's time to think about our March/anniversary cruise ! Quite a change, huh ? She's now a TRUE 'cruise addict'. Welcome to the club, sir. Oh, and by the way, there's only ONE definite cure !! OUR last breath, but till then, cruise ON !!

I think alot of us are in the same situation as you. I had to be dragged kicking and scremming on my first cruise because I thought that it would be no fun stuck on the sea for 7 days. Wife had to offer to pay for the whole thing. Boy, was I wrong.

Since then, I have paid for every cruise after my virgin cruise (Yes, after 37 years of marriage, wife and I still have seperate bank accounts.)

But, now here is my point. Cruises are cruises. Some are 3 day, some are 7 day, some are longer. But Sea days are the real indicator of whether you are a true cruiser of the seas, or just a weekend party towel animal.

So post your cruises and then days at sea.

I'll start- 18 cruises, 131 days at sea.

10 cruises in 7 years and 60 days at sea with 2 more booked adding another 18 days at sea.

the 2nd future cruise is a 14 day to Hawaii and we will finally reach platinum on that one.

I can't say I'm hooked yet but my upcoming cruise will be my second one. I hope to do more and try different cruise lines.

Mac,

Thank you for sharing about that first cruise. Every time I board a ship I still get excited. I love the sights, the food and drinks, the days at sea just sitting on the balcony looking at endless water, and my favorite the smell and taste of the salt air. I could go on and on lol.

I think cruising is more popular now because people have realized it's a good deal considering land vacations don't include food unless it's an all inclusive resort or something. Yes I have been hooked since my parents took me on my first one when I graduated high school in 1981 on NCL

Completely........ it all started in 2004 when my 16 yr old (then)son went to visit a cousin from Germany who was visiting with my Mother in Florida. Now Grandma felt she could not entertain these two teenagers so she called me and asked me if my son had a passport. Hmmm why would be need that I asked? To go on a cruise my mother exclaimed. A cruise, he can't go on a cruise before me I shouted. Then my mother offered to pay for my fare if I wanted to join them.

I immediately accepted and my DH and youngest DS also came along. Well, we have sailed at least once a year since then.

I have a few more under my belt than my DH. Girls cruises and such. 17 carnival cruises and one planned for this December.

I too cannot stand it if I do not ave a cruise on the books.

Welcome to the Club!!!

DH and I were both widowed and married almost 10 years ago. I had never cruised when we married. DH had 8 cruises then. We decided, like so many here, to enjoy each day and appreciate life, love and family.

:D

Total: 188 cruises; 971 days

That's funny! I am too! I had a long dry spell but once I didn't have to worry about coordinating a bunch of schedules, I went crazy and booked 4 cruises! If I don't get on my first cruise soon, it might cause me to book a fifth cruise! [emoji102]

NCL Starward 1978

Costa Daphne 1982

Carnival Triumph 2001

My husband and I went on our first cruise for our honeymoon back in October. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and I came up with the brilliant plan of taking our children on a cruise after each one graduates from high school. Our next cruise is scheduled for January 2018. We have five kids. So I'm set for the next several years. [emoji6]

Pretty much the exact same thing for me....I went in March 2010 on the Destiny for our honeymoon and I wanted nothing to do with cruising. I said to my wife towards the end of it ..."this wasn't so bad...maybe we'll come back in 10 years" we are now booked for our 6th and 7th cruises :)

I also am a cruisaholic!! I started off taking one cruise a year, then two a year. I retired January 31, 2013 and have been cruising several times a year. I have 3 more booked for this year. I love Carnival the best and the Pride is my favorite ship. I became a Diamond VIFP last November. I still get a thrill when I first board the ship!!!!

How hooked? I am all booked up to 12/18 but find myself checking every single day to see if the 2019-2020 cruise schedules are out. The night before disembarkation is the worst as I am overwhelmed by depression while packing. The thought of my cruise coming to an end is simply unbearable.

I am booked up until 11/2018 and so excited.

You are right! I get super down and sad the night before disembarkation as well, and the day of all I can think about is when I will be back!!!!
