spuds Posted July 13, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 13, 2017 Hello, On the Riviera in August (departing 11:00 pm from Barcelona) and I am just trying to plan our embarkation day. Just wondering if anyone might know approximately what time the muster drill would be - ?? Thanks!
TERRIER1 Posted July 13, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 13, 2017 Our muster on the June cruise leaving Monte Carlo at that time was around 5:30 pm.
Mura Posted July 13, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 13, 2017 Whenever we've had a late departure the drill has still been held around 5 or 5:30. Once restaurants are open (6:30) it's difficult to hold the drill later. Mura
Rare LHT28 Posted July 13, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 13, 2017 Agree it was still 5:15 to 5:30pm if you are still ashore they will have a make-up drill for you & others that missed it usually next morning

Redtravel Posted July 13, 2017 #6 Share Posted July 13, 2017 When you check in, you will be told what time the drill will be held. Often it is just before sailing. Most of the time, it is about one hour before dinner. On one cruise, we had the drill during dinner. Everyone left the dining room, did the drill, and returned to eat. It was awful. Wow That would be awkward since the muster stations for some are in the GDR What about people that left food on the table would the people at the drill be touching it while you were away ... Glad we never had that happen food is already just warm when you get it Most of the time the drill is between 5 - 5:30 pm the dining venues do not open until 6:30 pm

CorgiNole Posted July 14, 2017 #9 Share Posted July 14, 2017 Does this timing hold true for a cruise that sails the following day? e.g. We board in Reykjavik on Wednesday but do not sail until Thursday afternoon?

Then the muster will be on Thursday before you sail probably 5:15pm ...just guessing though

We have a private excursion on Wednesday so may not board the ship before dinner time.
Paulchili Posted July 14, 2017 #12 Share Posted July 14, 2017 Thanks. That is what I'm hoping for. We have a private excursion on Wednesday so may not board the ship before dinner time. Even if the drill were on the first day (very unlikely) and you were to miss it, you would have a "make up" drill later.
