Escape - Live 7/22

Recommended Posts

Hi Doug. A lot of the reviews talk about the Escape being crowded. What are your thoughts? Also do you think we will have problems getting reservations for the entertainment as well as speciality dining where we have not signed up yet and we are only 19 days from sailing. Thanks.

You can only sign up for After Midnight and The Brat Pack ahead of time. The Company Men as well as the comedy shows and the rotating Supper Club entertainer all can be reserved as soon as you board. Dining slots are only open for a small percentage right now, the majority will open up as soon as you board. Book it before you go to lunch. Cagney's and Teppanyaki will be sold out by sail away. There are stand by lines that open up 10 minutes prior to all shows since that is when no shows lost their reservations.

The worst crowding you'll see all week is at the elevator banks right after muster drill. Second worst is poolside on sea days. Enjoy, it's a great ship. I will be on her in September for the third straight time.

Can you let us know if people dress up for the 80s party? I will be on the Escape for my birthday week in September and will be dressing up for the 80s deck party and hoping others do as well!

Cam and I grab a drink from the DBH while the others wait on the Waterfront. I think I've now knocked off all the taps...

This guy and his wig were the only "dress up" I really witnessed on my sailing.

But who cares, Tyler and his gang will love you guys.

If there's a drink of the day... it's well-hidden on the Freestyle Daily. O'Sheehan's has the pork spare ribs special.

We're lazy - still in bed and overhearing that we've been cleared for HC. A change from last time we were here: "Only cash and credit cards can be used in this port of call - Harvest Caye"

Heading down for coffee and breakfast in a minute.

So this likely won't be much of a live thread

Doug's best joke so far may have been this one.

This thread is every bit as epic as your last two live threads.

Toast Art! How lovely. I've read about how they use such tricks to get you into the gallery then push the hard sell! I can see why it works. Looks delicious. Did you buy anything priceless?? :D

What did we do on Harvest Caye today? We all put on our swimsuits and watched the not-so-newlywed game on tv.

Great news on the Party Patch... I'm only 78 applications away from a beautifully-waxed back.

I appreciate CruiseLifeMatt taking time out of his busy day to pass along Party Patch knowledge...

I've been following your cruise and I'm envious. The good thing is I'm on the Escape this December for the Eastern, and can't wait. You do a fantastic job.

Interesting... this was beautiful shiny wood back in December...

Now all of the decking on the walkway is coated in some grey non-stick paint.

Yesterday at guest services, when I signed the parental waiver for Cam, I inquired about upgrading her to the Corks&Caps drink package. We were told the request is submitted back to NCL land, and a decision would be returned within 24 hours.

This morning we found this in our seabox...

The result...

We'll be credited back the drinks on her card from last night, which were all $8-9 each at DBH.

Does that mean she got the Ultimate Drink Package? My daughter will be 4 months shy of her 21st birthday and want to add to her card

Definitely more crowded this time around (vs when our smaller Dawn was here)...

But no problem finding chairs on the beach.

Are these pretty popular then? What do you think, those who have used them? Worth it?

No, there is no "Ultimate Drink Package".

3UDP is actually the 3SDP (Specialty Dining Package) but NCL still uses the letters UDP which was the Ultimate Dining Package which is no longer offered (hasn't been offered for over a year).

The daughter has the UBPCC (Corks and Caps Wine and Beer Package) which is $59 per person per day (if purchased) plus 18%. The promo covers the $59 per day and the guest pays the 18% ($59 x 7 x .18) which is $74.34.
