Last summer some of the offers in the brochures would not be combined with Explorer discounts because the prices were cheaper they said. Listing a lower price would appeal to customers and with so many repeat customers maybe Viking does not feel they need/should offer discounts.

This seems to be Viking's business policy. Makes cold business revenue sense if they get us repeat customers anyway.

I do like the ability on River to buy vouchers for $100 that can be used as $200 to book any future Viking cruise.

Otherwise, Silversea, Uniworld, etc. offer more incentive to repeat customers.

Are past guests of Viking automatically members of the Explorer Society? What are the benefits?

If you are a past river cruiser and go on an ocean cruise do you know if you are included or if is is a separate program? Does Viking maintain a database or do you have to actively enroll?

One program for river and ocean. If you have sailed with Viking in the past, you should already have a guest number assigned and thus be in the database.
