My Cabin Steward Bernard from India, Excellent

Cruise Arizona

Recommended Posts

I can''t say enough about my cabin steward Bernard.

He was wonderful, brought extra pillows when we needed them and kep the room in terrific shape.

He even delt with a few delicate problems.

1st problem. My 7 year old daughter had way to much soda and wet the bed one night. I took up all the sheets and kind of put them in a ball and then let him know what had happened and he assured me that my daughter was not the first to have this happened.

Then not two nights later, disaster struck, I was the last one back to the cabin and creeped into bed so as not to disturb DH, DD, or DS, what I didn't do was remove the chocolate from my pillow. About half way through the night I woke up and noticed something stuck to my shoulder. It was my pillow chocolate. I pulled it off and put it on the night stand, but it was too late. There was chocolate all over the sheets, and it looked really gross. The next morning I made a point of finding Bernard and explaining to him what happened. I assured him it was chocolate, but boy did it look gross.

Anyway, he was an angel and changed the sheets for us and I am so thankful to have such a fine cabin steward.

I love having wonderful cabin stewards, the only awful part is having to take care of yourself again when you return home :( .

I still remember some of our favorites, the ones you see in the hallway and get to know a bit more personally. We've had some who have given us great advice about port stops, we had one who folded our laundry (we were running late for dinner seating and never expected him to do that!). I had one who checked on my daughter and I when we were quite seasick one evening.

You're not the first person who has slept with their chocolate, I've heard about it before! I'd probably get it all in my hair or up my nose :D .

From being just wonderful & fast cleaning the stateroom, he went above his duties having to clean 5 AFT CC cabins each morning after the bar above sent their trash down on us. Then the gangway gets my left foot & this dear was over hourly with fresh icebags, treats & just a sweet smile to make me feel better. His Housekeeping Mgr also knew & he helped him occassionally.

We gave him a great write up before leaving.
