Just back from RADIANCE!!!!!

Recommended Posts

What was your itinerary? Is she similar to the Vision class ships? We just returned from the Legend, and we absolutely adored the size and the layout of her.

Hi,

Was your cruise 10 days and if so I would appreciate it if you could tell me what the themes were in the dining room for dinner. We want to make a reservation at Chops and don't know which day to make it for. We think the evening they serve jerk chicken in the dining room (think it's Caribbean theme) would be good but we need to find out which day that would be.

Also, who was the Captain and what type of entertainment was there? Were the shows for second seating really crowded? How far in advance do you have to get there?

Looking forward to reading your review.

Thanks.

The captain should be Capt Rune Loekling, he just got back from holidays around 11-27-05.

We did the Eastern Carr. (St. Thomas, St. Maarten) Radiance is smaller than Voyager class. I have never been on the Vision class. Lets say about 2,000 people, give or take.

It was 7 days. Caribbean night was Wednesday. We went to Portofinos that night for the Murder Mystery.

We missed the RC dancers and singers (casino), but we saw most of the other entertainers (comedians, Piano Man) they were excellent. We normally caught the late night shows, and showed up at the time, and had no problem with seats. They weren't on the 1st row, but always good. For the best seats, get there 20 minutes early.

Is gordon still the cruise director? Any info on her drydock?

I'm not sure about drydock. Gordon was not the Director. I believe it was a Michael. He was very good, but his staff was mmmmm. They were not very approachable.

Gordon is on the Legend but will be returning to the Radiance. Drydock is in January.

Thanks for answering my other questions. Forgot to ask, did they have any games like "Where in the World Am I" or Trivia scheduled at 8PM in the lounge prior to second seating dinner like they did when we sailed on her last time?

They did Trivia each day at sea at around 4:00pm. We went twice, not as bright as we thought...:)

Last time we were on that ship they had a different game each night prior to dinner from 8-8:30PM in the lounge by the pool tables. Games like "Where in the World Am I?", "Who Am I?", etc..... They had a good turnout each night and everyone had fun. Sorry to hear that they won't have them this time. Guess it depends on the cruise director.

I'm sure the Itin changes some per cruise. You never know. They didn't play any of those you mentioned. They held most of the trivia in the Colony Club which is in the back of the Schooner (by the pool tables). We couldn't hear very well in the Schooner.
