    • YES
    • NOT A CHANCE!
    • No, but I will be wearing a dark suit.
    • I would wear my shorts & a tee shirt to the dining room if I could.

I don't own one and even if I did I would not take it. I won't rent one either.

Sorry to hear that.

I do own one and I actually wear it a couple of times a year to charitable functions. I only rent from the cruise lines so I don't have to pack mine and worry about it getting wrinkled. It's really nice to have it hanging in the closet ready to wear when we get on board. I do take my own shoes.

For me, getting dressed up for the Holidays is part of the tradition. So, why not get decked out on a holiday cruise?

The tux has been cleaned and pressed!

What say you?

Go for it.

Others will choose a suit, others a sports jacket, and others no jacket at all.

Some people will get presents from Santa, others will not.

Some people will have Christmas dinner on the 24th, others on the 25th.

Some people will celebrate the holidays without Christmas at all.

Celebrate the holidays however you like.

Happy Holidays!

Very nice post!

I actually only wear my Tux for weddings, charity balls (yes I go to an annual ball) & holiday cruises. The rest of the year I travel with a sport jacket or dinner jacket and some nice slacks.

Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts and comments.

pre Retirement from the Navy, Mr Spook wore his Dinner Mess Dress uniform and/or a kilt. in the post retirement world, he just bought a tux a month ago to take on our cruise next week. he is also bringing at least one of his Tartans. and he plans on wearing that on a non formal night just because.

Agree, that's all that matters. (y)

Don’t want to look like a penguin!

Hallasm looks very handsome in that picture. Nothing like a penguin. But if that is what penguins look like, then all men should aspire to that. :)

My husband brings his tux sometimes, and other times just a nice suit. I think people should dress the way they want (within reason of course) and if wearing a suit to dinner every night is what one likes to do then they should do it. Very nice for us ladies to look upon as well. Much better than polo shirts and ball caps.

I say go for it, I admire people dressed up well on formal night even if I'm not one. As long as everybody is happy.

I was trying to figure out what he possibly meant....

I should have explained better. My wife manages to pack our items and the 2 kids clothes into just two pieces of luggage (defying many laws of physics, IMHO). If I brought a tux (or suit, etc) it would add an additional bag that we'd have to pay to transport to and from the cruise. No thanks.

I typically take my tux with me on cruises, but fewer men wear tuxedos, suits, or even dress shirts on formal nights.

"I would wear my shorts & a tee shirt to the dining room if I could."

Well, on the Liberty cruise last week, on formal nights there were men in shorts, t-shirts, jeans, you name it.

Formal night sure isn't what it used to be.
