Not anymore. The volume of Platinum and Diamond passengers does not allow the manpower to extend those perks to other passengers. This change was made before our September cruise. Some had already purchased and others were trying to obtain so I remember the timeline and discussion.

On the Miracle Alaska Journeys cruise almost half the pax were Platinum or Diamond add in Suite pax and a whole bunch of people have some sort of Priority and laundry. I will say that the Guest Services Line never had a more than a few in line at anytime.

The Mexican Riviera Journeys Cruise was one of the last with FTTF. That was a cluster.

Whats a journeys cruise and how would Iknow if I booked one.

I just came back and turned out to be a Ultra Casino Cruise. we had 101 diamonds, over 300 platinums and they also had over 100 FTTF who went first, then diamond then platinum. about 550 priority. I would like to know how to avoid these cruises in the future.

Could you please explain how a journey cruise is marked? or what it is?

Journey cruises are usually longer cruises. The shortest Journeys I have sailed was 9 days but most are 12-14 days. They are clearly marked when searching the Carnival site.

Premier, Ultra, and Elite are casino promotions and are by invitation only. I don't know, other than asking Carnival, PVP or TA to specifically check a sailing that there is anyway to know if your sailing is one of those. The other hic-up is you might book a cruise and have it announced as one of the casino promos month after. The next round of premier offers are going to be announced very soon. They will be for summer. So if you book a year in advance you could easily be booked on a cruise that is announce as a premier.

Besides being longer they also have interesting or different itins. We’ve been on several-Hawaii, Mexican Riviera, Alaska RT from Los Angeles. When looking online, they’ll be marked as such.

They have a few special activities, including an 80’s throwback day with a midnight buffet.

A casino cruise is not a Journeys cruise, it’s just bad luck to get on one of those when you’re not involved.

Is this still the case? A friend who normally cruises Royal is booking the 12 day out of Charleston with us and seemed to be able to book it. I talked her out of it because we are just going to rearrange cabins so she can get the perks and her daughter is an age where we won't need ot worry about the accounts needing sorted out.

It really seems to vary, while I saw people posting that no it wasn't available, our Journeys's sailing on the Pride in January 2019 has shown the FTTF available multiple times. I didn't worry with purchasing because I turn Platinum on that cruise.

When you log onto the Carnival site, click "Plan" then "Find a Cruise."

Directly under the "Sail to", "Sail from", "Dates", and "Duration" boxes you'll see a box with "Specialty Cruises."

Click on that to find all Journeys sailings.

"Carnival Journeys:

Sail towards places less-traveled, with unique onboard enrichment - and classic cruise flair - all the way."

Would anyone mind telling me the difference between Faster to the Fun 2015 and Faster to the Fun 2018? I booked it for my upcoming cruise because I loved it on my last one. I thought it was weird that they assigned a time for me for port, and was concerned that there's two groups of FTTF since I keep reading about people being able to board the ship by 11-11:30am at Port of Miami and my FTTF is not until 12pm. Thanks!

No, there aren't two groups of FTTF. When you say 12pm, are you referring to the time listed on the FTTF purchase page in the excursions? If so, just ignore that. They put a time for everything in excursions and, for whatever reason, they list 12:00 for FTTF. Boarding depends primarily on clearing the ship after the previous cruise. Once it's officially cleared, they can begin boarding. They start with platinum/diamond, suites, then call FTTF. For instance, a couple weeks ago in Miami for our Glory cruise, they announced boarding would begin at 11:30, but it actually began at 11:00. We were on board, put our carry-on bags in our cabin, and were done eating by 11:30.

Arrival time is different than boarding. Everyone has to choose an arrival time in their online check-in prior to your cruise. That's simply the time you choose to arrive at the terminal to check in. They stagger arrival times throughout the day to control the lines. If you don't choose one, Carnival will assign one. Normally, you're not allowed into the terminal until your arrival time window, or later. But since you have FTTF, you are allowed to check in anytime, even before your assigned arrival time. In our case, I had originally chose 11:30 when the arrival times opened up for our cruise (the earliest I could pick), but as it got closer, Carnival automatically changed ours to 11:00 (I guess because we had FTTF). In reality, they let us into the terminal around 10:00 or so.

There are no assigned times specific to FTTF or any other priority group. With FTTF you can show up anytime and you don't have to follow your 'assigned' time. Carnival's systems just require everyone to have an assigned time regardless of FTTF or other priority status.
