merknerk Posted January 5, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2018 Hello Everyone, Our family ( 15 of us ) are soon to be on Liberty of the Seas. Grandkids ages range from 3 to 14. We will be stopping in Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Falmouth Jamaica. Looking for beaches to go to in those locations that are good for families. Preferably not real far from the pier. Looking at shore excursions and they add up pretty fast for a family of five let alone 15. Thanks in advance.
Clarea Posted January 6, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 6, 2018 Chankanaab is popular in Cozumel, though you will need a taxi to get there. 7-mile beach in Grand Cayman is a very nice beach, but again, you will need a taxi. cb at sea Posted January 6, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 6, 2018 You don't need a taxi at GC....they have FABULOUS bus service. $2.50 pp... very easy...very reliable. For beaches almost ANYWHERE in the Caribbean, you do NOT need excursions! Get a guidebook from your local library...the more you know, the more "bang for your buck" you can get. Seldom is an excursion needed! BUT...you have to research your ports! And with a family, that can save you BIG BUCKS! Head to your library and read up on your ports! Pitzel Posted January 6, 2018 #6 Share Posted January 6, 2018 Paradise Beach in Cozumel is very budget-friendly. You may need a few taxis to get there, but you can have a very inexpensive day in the pool or at the beach once you are there.
poolwife Posted January 6, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 6, 2018 Do you have to have a reservation to go to Paradise Beach for the day?
sunsetbeachgal Posted January 6, 2018 #8 Share Posted January 6, 2018 Paradise Beach does not need a reservation and would be a good choice. I think it is $3 per person to get in which gets you a lounger and umbrella and use of their wonderful pool in addition to the nice beach. Plenty of shade, clean restrooms. You are expected to purchase $10 of food and drink per person but I really don’t know how that works with kids. Our family loves Paradise Beach! Taxi fare I think is around $17 each way, perhaps you can find a van or two. Some of the places folks above have suggested are all inclusive (Rose Hall) and very nice but for this many people will cost you a small fortune! champagne123 Posted January 6, 2018 #9 Share Posted January 6, 2018 Another vote for Paradise Beach in Cozumel. Especially with that many people... Follow the signs for the taxi's/cabs/shuttle buses. Falmouth, take the shuttle bus to Doctor Cave"s. Tons of fun.
Pitzel Posted January 6, 2018 #10 Share Posted January 6, 2018 Do you have to have a reservation to go to Paradise Beach for the day? More info on Paradise Beach: http://www.paradise-beach-cozumel.com/ Note that the $10 suggested food/beverage minimum per person is only for those over 6. We easily hit the minimum with 1-2 drinks per person and a shared lunch of 2-3 items for 4 adults and a child. On the day that we went, it was a little overcast. The heated pool was wonderful.
