Hello all.

After some cruises with Costa, MSC and NCL we will try Carnival Vista in August / September.

We are looking for a balcony for 2 adults and a 7 years old girl.

What 's a Cove Balcony? Do you recommend any particular balcony location?

Thank you all.

Hi and welcome to Carnival! We always sail in a regular balcony (2 adults and 1 teen) on deck 7 or 8 or an ocean suite deck 7. We love being halfway up and halfway down on a ship as we only use the stairs when cruising. Also, with the suites being on deck 7 typically you will get top notch cabin service as the stewards are very attentive and well seasoned (very experienced) on that deck. We have plenty of room in a regular balcony for 3 people and we like the sofa (turns into bed) in lieu of a pull down bunk for our son.

We are not fans of the cove balcony or the lower deck location personally but many here love them. This all will depend on the ship you are going to be cruising on as well. Have fun!

A cove balcony is similar to an enclosed balcony that we had on Gem except the cove balcony is on deck 2 and much closer to the water. There is a water tight door out to the balcony that the staff will close if really rough seas are expected. It's on our list of cabins to try.
