Can my husband and I be placed on the same account at the casino? The reason I ask this is I am close to making Ruby and I am sure if the money spent in the casino from both myself and my husband are able to count towards my tier level I would make Ruby. Is this even possible, or does the casino require you to have separate accounts? TIA!

You can request a second card but It will not work as a table player, they will only allow you to use your own card.

As far as slot machines it would work if you are playing side by side machines. It will send red flags to CAS if they have the same person “playing”at the same time of day on opposite sides of the casino.

Thanks for the suggestions! I play pretty heavy and usually the casino host will stop by and talk to me a couple of times throughout the cruise. I think it would be best to try not to push the envelope and just try to get the points needed myself. Thanks again for all the responses!!

I had two friends playing slots (with my money and my cards) while I played tables, all with the permission of the Executive Casino Host last week on the Dawn. It allowed me to finally hit Elite! Just ask at the Players Club.

Actually the opposite is true the casinos are full now since they have less competition. It will be interesting to see what happens when the Hard Rock and the new Revel (to many name changes to keep up) opens. My guess is Ballys will close

The new Revel is called Ocean Resort Casino, and yes I agree that the 2 new kids on the block will a) close down some of the smaller casinos, and b) give Borgata a serious gut check

"Points must be earned individually." Taken from NCL Casinos at Sea website. There are always people who try and cheat the system, which ends up making it harder for the honest players.

How does it make it harder for the "honest" players. I sometimes play two machines next to each other when I'm by myself, but if my wife is with me I'll let her sit and play the second machine (she doesn't usually gamble but does get a kick out of it sometimes). I don't think that is dishonest. Even the cases where people give their secondary card to a friend playing on the opposite side of the casino, if they can do it, more power to them. I don't think it affects me in any way.

Like everything else in life, the honest people pay for all the dishonest thieves. Every business has to allow for the theft in their pricing, so the people who pay have to pick up the costs of those who don't. In this case I am sure CAS figures in the cheaters by raising the points required to attain each status, so in turn the honest players need to play more to attain the desired status.

I often play 2 machines side by side but I use both of my cards. The rule clearly states that all Points must be earned individually. So I personally prefer playing by the rules.

I am glad to know, you report all your under $600 winnings to the IRS, never take office supplies, refuse to take deductions, out of principle, drive the limit always, never over-pile your plate at the buffet, etc, etc. Of course you are the model for modern morality, personified!

I have refused to step foot in the Borgata due to some comments they made before they opened and I have refused to step foot on their property. I for one will be glad if they take a hit.

I never said I was perfect, I said I prefer to play by the rules. I am very grateful for the generous offers from NCL CAS, and don't feel its worth the risk of loosing these great offers.

No, I am not grateful to ANY casino, nor tobacco company, liqueur company, etc.: the vice trade is the vice trade. We are the customer, the one's who spend money. I may be grateful for my employer, but not to a business which I am the customer. If they don't give a player friendly environment, then I leave.

If they end my offers, then I would never see them again and i would take as many of my gaming friends, as possible! They are here to service our needs/wants, not the other way around! We are not their employees, thus we are their paying clients.

CAS has been happy to give me a 2nd card so I can play two machines. I'm the 'player' and my DH likes to sit next to me and talk. We often have my 2nd card in the machine he is sitting at and it doesn't seem to cause any problems for the CAS hosts when they stop to chat. They know I'm the player and it's just fine that he hits some buttons once in awhile.

Technically, no. However, as mentioned repeatedly above, it's not uncommon for a pair of players to use a second card on one account. No, it's not "legal" but it's done in all casinos, on land and sea.

A more important point, though, is that the Casino managers will consider the combined points of a husband/wife pair (or other pairing in the same cabin) when evaluating play for credit against the final bill from the ship.

Just be careful with that. If someone hits a hand-pay jackpot, casino people will pull out the player's card and if that is NOT the person playing the machine, they can refuse to pay. It happens in land based casinos all the time.

I have hit a couple of hand-pays on land with my DH's card in the machine. Both times he was sitting with me. We had no problems in Las Vegas or New Orleans. It might have been different if it was a different last name and the other person wasn't there. That would have made me nervous, but as a married couple with same address we have never had a problem.

Back about 2010 we were at Hard Rock Biloxi. The wife wanted to hit a machine for a few spins. I put my card in it. My $100 bill, and she sat down. Hit a $2500 jack pot. Slot host was behind me watching all this. I pulled my card out of the machine. Handed it to host. I said "give me the W2G". She replied "has to go to whoever hit the button". My wife got the money counted to her minus the taxes. Then she left for the pawn shop to buy a gold necklace we had just seen an hour earlier ! Maybe I got a kiss ?

While I agree, and would immediately pull the non-player's card if I hit a hand pay on it, it really doesn't seem to matter in any casino I've ever been in. Most of the time the slot host just pulls your player's card and hands it back to you without even looking at it. And if they really were concerned about it, I'm sure the player card number is in the computerized transaction records of the slot machine, so they could easily check.
