In Barbados walking would take a "normal" person how long to walk to town from the port?  The reason I am asking, my friend is using a cane, and cannot do a lot of walking, and I was wondering if we should get a Taxi, and if so, do you have any idea of the cost to town?

For us about a 30 minute walk. You should get a taxi.

Keith, thanks for your answer.  Even though I'm 75 young, and could do the walk, I had a feeling it might be too much for her.

Also time of year can be a factor as if it is very hot and humid it could make the walk more challenging.

Keith, yes that is true, although Carol is from AZ, and I from MO.  The heat really bothers her, and I can take a lot of heat.  When I was in AZ years ago, it was 112 degrees, and Charlie, Carol's husband ask me if I was hot?  I told him I felt fine.  I guess that is one reason why I like to go to the Caribbean. 🙂
