Azamara Journey crossing the equator today - a bit of fun by Captain Johannes

I've heard from a friend who is currently on Journey that they are due to cross the equator later. I know in the past Captain Johannes has circled two or three times so as to cross the equator more than once. Apparently Journey will try for a world record (no idea if there is one) of 21 times in 30 minutes today. Once for each guest nationality onboard and an extra one for the crew.:cool:

That’s the ceremony which took place before the manoeuvres. They do this on each sailing that crosses the equator.

I tried to pick Journey up on MarineTraffic so I could see them doing it, but unfortunately it’s not transmitting. Johannes is usually pretty handy with his camera phone and might have snapped some shots of the ship instruments. I’m afraid I’m a bit of an anorak with these sort of things!:o
