geckoaz Posted April 21, 2018 #10 Share Posted April 21, 2018 Do people bring on fruit? Looking at the answers here...yes. But should you? No. Much like alcohol. People do but should they smuggle it on? I live in a citrus area. Fruit flies and other problems. Best not to move them. Boats and trucks brought fire ants and killer bees. If you have flown in hawaii..you know the agricultural inspections are stricter than tsa. An invasive specie can wiped out an island ecology. I will grab a banana in lido buffet. Usually early on the cruise because later on they are a little more ripe. Choose wisely.

beachbum53 Posted April 21, 2018 #15 Share Posted April 21, 2018 I plan to bring my own watermelons next time and possibly a pumpkin. Hmmm. I wonder if anyone has ever tried using a plugged melon as a rum-runner?
BookDragon Posted April 21, 2018 #16 Share Posted April 21, 2018 I thought I read somewhere that bringing bananas on board is bad luck...some kind of superstition. Seriously. Maybe someone else knows more about this.

cruzeluver Posted April 23, 2018 #21 Share Posted April 23, 2018 Still trying to figure out what "embankment" is. How about just bring clothes, meds and toiletries? What people want to haul onto a ship has gotten nutty. You aren't taking up permanent residence are you? Will being without a kumquat for seven days be just too painful? Last cruise so many comfort dogs thinking that I should take my comfort monkey named George. In case the ship runs out of bananas probably should take a few hundred or so. winddawn Posted April 23, 2018 #23 Share Posted April 23, 2018 I plan to bring my own watermelons next time and possibly a pumpkin. They do ice carvings on ships. Why not carve pumpkins instead? Lol. You may be onto something!

Garth2 Posted April 23, 2018 #25 Share Posted April 23, 2018 Can you bring bananas onboard at embankment? It's "embarkation". You don't embank on a cruise unless the ship runs aground.
