KU Cruiser Posted April 30, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 30, 2018 Just curios if you think cash tips in the casino, in lieu of adding a tip to the bill, might give us better service? I guess I’m thinking immediate cash in their pockets would be desired. Thoughts???
HawkIVette Posted April 30, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 30, 2018 Yes, I tip with chips. When you buy a drink in the casino,a gratuity is already added. Usually that is enough of a tip. But an extra $ usually gets me better service. I have the Drinks On US card most every cruise. When you get a drink from a wait staff then, the bill is $0.00, so no gratuity is added from the casino. So I always tip them with a $1 chip and they sure apperciate it. I usually have no problem getting a wait staff to find me and ask me if I need another drink. Also tip your dealers at the tables. If you don't get noticed by the wait staff, ask the dealers and they will make sure you get one.
KU Cruiser Posted April 30, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted April 30, 2018 Thank you, I should have clarified that I have the Drinks On Us card also, therefore 0.00 owed on the bill. I play slots and hadn’t thought of chips. Thank you!
scott4020 Posted April 30, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 30, 2018 A tip to a server has always guaranteed me great service in the casino. I don't think it happens often.
Elaine5715 Posted April 30, 2018 #5 Share Posted April 30, 2018 I write in tips on the slip. I am never without a drink. I also don't move until they return with my order

sgttami Posted April 30, 2018 #7 Share Posted April 30, 2018 I tip in cash in the casino as I usually have DOU card. ($1-$2 per drink). They know where to find me as I'm always glued to the same slot machine...LOL On the last night, I'll tip a little more:D:D
RHilla619 Posted April 30, 2018 #8 Share Posted April 30, 2018 I always tip the cocktail waiters in the casino, just like I do at a land based casino. And just like tipping at a land based casino tends to get the waiter back by your table quicker, it works the same way at sea. I always try to tip them in cash or casino chips so it goes right in their pocket, they still appreciate when you write in the tip on the receipt, but I think that buck or two you add on may get pooled. Hi- The tip that you write in on the receipt does not get pooled. I do ask every cruise to be sure nothing has changed and many over the years has told me they prefer it that way. I think because it goes right into their bank account.
