SLO Live/SLO Jam 5/10/2018 Bliss

In the morning, we got ready for our Platinum latitudes behind the scenes tour. On this tour we will visit the laundry, backstage of the theater and the main kitchen/ galley. There were about 80 people gathered and they split us up into two groups.

It was really hot in the laundry. I’m glad we got to see how hard the crew works to make our towels, sheets and napkins clean, pressed and folded.

Next was the backstage of the theater

She told us how all of the lifts and lighting works and the cat walk above the stage and the huge led tv behind the stage. She showed us where the musicians play etc. many many moving parts to each show. And 9 second costume changes! Amazing!

Next we went to the main kitchen. It was very clean and smelled like chocolate in the pastry section. We were getting hungry!

So the tour ran late and we knew we were going to be late for the cruise critic meet and greet. It was held in the Manhattan room because we had so many people over 300!

I’m sorry I forgot to take pictures. All of the volunteers for all of the events were there so we could thank them. The ships officers were there too. NCL made a cake, they served mimosas and passed appetizers to all of the guests. Very nice! I didn’t participate in the gift exchange but I heard it was fun!

Had to get a quick lunch before the slot pull, so we went to local and got a Coney Island dog, we each had one, we thought that might be the quickest meal. It was good.

Next was the slot pull. We had about 50 players. You each have $20 to Janet. She held back 25% to give to the highest $ spinner. So we each got 3 spins at $5 each. It was fun. Linda the first to got to spin the wheel at 2x pay and got $300 into the pot. Any way Janet cashed out at $799. We each walked away with $18. Linda got ~$200 as the highest $ spinner.

We walked to Haven to have the concierge book 2 comedy shows that night.

Then we walked along the waterfront and stopped for some gelato. Yum

Stopped by sugarcane bar to see Chocolate Cowboy and have a mojito

I had the spicy passion one. Perfect!

Next there was a lecture on the Panama Canal early days the French era. I was late and there was standing room only left.

He was a good speaker.

Next was dinner at Ocean Blue:

So this was my first time to ocean blue on any ship. We love seafood! The appetizers were fantastic! The blue point oysters: yummy!

I felt the upcharge was worth every penny!

So we had Sauvignon Blanc, and a dozen blue point oysters

Next I had the blue crab salad and Mike had chilled shrimp

He also had sashimi and I had the Salmon cakes

Mike also had clam chowder

The setting was lovely on the waterfront watching the sun go down and the sky darken, beautiful!

Next for the main Mike had grouper. It was fantastic!

I decided to try the lobster pot pie, since I heard this was the only place to get lobster on the ship:

They pored lobster bisque over the lobster. I also asked for butter to dip the lobster in. I was a tiny bit disappointed with this dish. The lobster was a bit on the chewy rubbery side, but pretty good dipped in the butter! I was pretty full with all of the appetizers (which were to die for) anyway. So I did not eat the pastry part.

We went to 2 shows of Levity both were great!

I barely stayed awake though due to all of the wine catching up to me.

Mike stayed in the casino all night. I think he was playing 3 card poker.

This morning I’m writing this review and enjoying coffee and a banana on the balcony

For today we have the cabin crawl and I’ll ask our room attendant LV to have it looking pristine at 2:00 as I’m showing our room today.

Today we have a pre cabin crawl lunch.

We have dinner at food republic

Captains cocktail party in Haven

And a show Havana

Another busy day!

I’m going out for morning walk soon.

After morning walk I cooled down with water then my first mimosa! I hadn’t got up to see go carts and race track yet so I went up there to check it out and snoop around. Go carts weren’t going yet so these are kind of boring photos of race track area:
