Possible Third Ship for BPCL?

Recommended Posts

Didn't Carnival used to run cruises out of Savannah? Or maybe I'm thinking of Charleston?

Palm Beach would definitely need another terminal for two ships. I think the one they're currently using is the only passenger terminal there.

Charleston, yes. And, I think they still do. Maybe on a seasonal basis, I am not sure. Don't ever recall sailings from the lovely city of Savannah, however. I am one who like to see such a development.

We were on Vision of the Seas for a very rare sailing from South Florida to Bermuda in 2014. It included a stop in Charleston. We visited Fort Sumter. I was disappointed that we did not see the fort when we sailed in - I could have slept later... But there were no lights. When we went our on the first ferry, the park rangers were going out with us.

So, it is possible to dock ships in Charleston and the Vision of the Seas was larger than either of the Bahamas Paradise ships.

Charleston is getting the Carnival Sunshine. Carnival Ecstasy, currently in Charleston, will move to Jacksonville, and Carnival Elation will move from Jacksonville to Port Canaveral.

There used to be a ferry from Miami to Bimini, but they stopped that when the airport was finished/upgraded in Bimini. The Ferry originally used tenders. I don't know if they ever built a dock. Gordon

FRS-Caribbean operates ferry service between Port Miami and Bimini. There now is a dock at the resort/casino that they utilize. Details: https://www.frs-caribbean.com
