Uber/Lyft: Any problems at FLL or POM?

Recommended Posts

Are there any issues using Uber or Lyft for pick up at the FLL airport and pick up at port of Miami after a cruise.

Are they allowed to pick up at the airport and cruise port?

We have never used them before.

No problem at all, either in Port Everglades or Port Miami.

Plenty of cars available with Uber, much less with Lyft.

I've never used these services but am thinking about it for our trip in October. We are going to be a party of two, is the price they quote you per ride or per person?

That's for the car - UberX is usually good for 2-3 plus standard bags; if you have 4-5 you'll need UberXL for a higher fare.

If a dinosaur like me can figure it out, so can you! ;) Download the app, set it up with your credit card, email, photo, etc. There are some good You Tube videos that will walk you through the process.

Both the ride share apps are easy to use and usually the most inexpensive way to get around. I’ve used Uber all over the world and never had any issues.

If you are a new Uber user, get a promo code from an existing Uber user, enter that code in the Payments section of the app and you and the provider of the code will get $15 off their next ride.

Here’s my code if you need one: 6y3g9

Anyone can use it.

It’s a great way to get around when you don’t have a car.

Thank you for the code! I’m using it this summer! I hope you get some credit too.

I drive for Uber in the New Orleans area so I may be biased, but it really is an inexpensive way to get around. Uber vehicles are quicker, cheaper, and cleaner than taxis. At least that's the feedback I have gotten from my riders which includes both locals and tourists.

I live in the Fort Lauderdale area, about 12 miles from Port Everglades. I used UberXL to get to the Port in February and it cost me $48. I tried to use Uber when we returned from the Cruise, however, "surge pricing" was in effect since 8 ships were in port. The surge pricing was $106! I declined it and took a taxi home costing me $44.
