Carnival Throw Backs

The Taste Bar, it was totally empty on our cruise on the Ecstasy last week.

24/7 included room service - this is a big one for me and why I have nothing booked after our November cruise. It seems like a small thing but getting a BLT after being in the night club or casino or whatever is part of cruising to me and my wife.

Lobster on a 5 day cruise.

The. Three part folded deck plans card. I wish the picture of the ship that deck plan was for was on the front of the card

I have all deck plan cards of our previous sailing with the photo and name of the ship on front cover

Now for saving money I guess one side is the same on all ships and the deck plan is on the the reverse side

Captains Gala that took place in the theater with the live band/dancing, free drinks and appetizers for all.

Fun Farewell Party on the last night that included free drinks and a live band.

The late night crepes.

The midnight buffets.

Guys Burgers are really great but I miss the variety of the old grills. Chicken sandwiches, steak sandwiches, chicken tenders, hot dogs, chili, cheese sauce, grilled onions, AND fries/burgers.

The variety of toppings from the old pizza station. I honestly prefer the old pizza, period.

When the loyalty program was referred to as “The Carnival Concierge Club” instead of “VIFP.” Very Important Fun Person just...no.

If you sail on the Miracle or the Splendor, they still have the grill. Gone are the chicken and steak sandwiches, but they had everything else you mentioned earlier this month on the Miracle. I really like Guys, but the grill burgers were pretty good, and the chili was really good, it was full of meat, beans, peppers and onions, put it over some cheese fries and it was a meal! :D They should have that as an option, considering one of Guy Fieri's signature dishes is his Dragon Chili cheese fries!

Funny, just the past couple days we talked about what Carnival offered when we first cruised on them in 2003.

Amenity basket in bathroom.

We liked the Taste bar.

Better production shows (although Horizon cast was large--other ships were down to 4 singers/dancers)

Extensive "chocolate extravaganza"

LOL I remember the top optional decks! Remember the ship drawing mat that was on your place setting in the dining room?

Welcome Aboard Rum Swizzle Party in the Casino

Bathroom Amenity Kits

Captain Morgan's (it was no where to be found on my last cruise - hoping this was just a one off!)

Captain's Cocktail Party

Warm Pumpkin Soup (Soooo good! Haven't seen it in several years)

Free Entry into the Blackjack or Slot Tourney for Platinums (only got to do this once before it went to B1G1)

The Captains Reception Party for EVERYONE, not just Platinum and Diamond, that included complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Also, the Past Cruiser Party, which included the same as the Captains party, and was for ANYONE who had cruised Carnival before, not just Platinum and Diamond. Then there was the midnight buffets, but I hear Carnival does offer some late night snacks, also, now. The parties were the main thing that is gone now, though. They were wonderful!

The Platinums/Diamond party is FAR better than the old Past Guest Party.
