BON VOYAGE Sea Princess World Cruise 2018

Recommended Posts

The world cruisers had a special treat this afternoon (evening canada time).

They had a fireworks display!!

I am not too sure what it was for ( I think maybe because this is the first time the world cruise has visited them).

Hopefully the bloggers when they catch up will tell us more :)

I got about 80+ webcam captures from the event......, which I am currently sorting out, so will post them soon :)

We went to Halifax on the Queen Mary 2 in Aug 2017., the whole waterfront is a nice place to explore! :)

Agreed, a great and easy place to explore on your own. The weather looks good for them anyway.

Great pic thanks.

Ye olde Sea Princess sails on to the 'Big Apple' aka 'The City that never sleeps.'

I hope US immigration/border security is nice to them. It took 4 hours for us to get off at Manhattan Pier on Aurora in 2015.

Was that slow walking or a long gangway?

2000 pax, mostly Brits, only 4 officers doing the process and photos, fingerprints, questions etc, yawn. Good job we were there 2 days, pax without ship's shorex were held back and no crew were allowed off until 2nd day because of pax processing backlog.:( A lot of unhappy Marmites.

Getting into the 'Land of the Free is never easy. Such is life.

Reading the Blogs on SP from 'Still Travelling.' 3 days in a row sick pax were taken off the ship.

Not good.

Fatigue may be starting to hit.

Too many Mohitos or Prawn Cocktails, perhaps those dinner rolls have started attacking pax.:')

On Bridgecam she looks a fair distance from Manhattan Pier, if docking there. Early approach though 12.30am in NY.

But then it is the city that never sleeps.

WOW. That’s what you call an early arrival Local time now 1.20am. Let’s hope US Immigration is on the ball as well.

I have done the sail in and it is spectacular coming towards the city. We docked at Red Hook though.

They are due to leave at 4pm tomorrow so they will see the sights during an afternoon sail out.

I'm too late to see the ship sail in but boy what a fantastic skyline at night.

I see on the Princess board that someone posted about how early the ship arrived.

Hope they have a wonderful time in NY.

One day I hope to go there.

The downside of the Sea Princess arriving in to New York at that time of night was there was no one around to operate some of these webcam's and or there where not working / updating :(

I hope they are enjoying Manhattan. Pity they couldn't enjoy sailing in to NYC, such a memorable experience, with the excitement building as the skyscrapers in the distance draw closer. Sailaway will be good in daylight.

Thanks for all the beautiful Greenland photos, Jo. Sounds like you really enjoyed your time there. The photos added to my excitement re my pending first visit to Greenland next month.
