Flying out of LAX

Recommended Posts

I say yes, you'll catch your flight! If there are no security threats. A couple of weeks ago, they found and abandoned truck by LAX with arms in it... They shut down the ramps to get to the gates!!'

But if there are no issues, you'll make it fine.Just Pre-board...

Oh Honey, you have eased my mind. I know there can always be issues, but I'm leaning with a strong tilt to the I can make it side. As I've said before, I got off the ship in Miami (was the first one off) had to wait for a taxi (about 2 minutes) got to the airport & through security and at my gate by 8 a.m. AND I know that is comparing apples to oranges. I think I can make it too. If I were sailing in on a Saturday, I'd fly out Sunday am, but as I said not an option this trip. I'll have to look you up after my return and let you know how I did. Thanks again for the vote of confidence. & I always check in 24 hours prior my flight.

Big tanker truck accident on the 105 Freeway (which ends at LAX) today. Saw people on the freeway walking off with luggage to catch a ride to LAX on surface streets. Usually San Pedro to LAX on Saturday or Sunday is clear but I feel sorry for those travelers today!

Yeh I was caught in that this morning on my way to work. Ugh! Luckily I was able to get off the freeway going up an on ramp....don’t ask....

For those of you who have done so, I'm looking for what time you have disembarked (self walk off) got a cab, and got to LAX Airport to make your flight (no checked bags) on a Sunday, without having to do the 50 yard dash all the way. I know there are a lot of variances, but just looking for an idea. I'm thinking about booking the Gem 1/20-1/27 doing the Mexican Rivera in January. San Pedro flights are almost twice the amount of LAX for me to get back to Virginia (flying to RDU). I am limited to flights and would prefer not to fly out at 10 p.m. Need to fly home on Sunday 1/27. Thank you for any and all information.

We booked this exact cruise! We are flying into the long Beach airport LGB from Seattle.

Long Beach airport if you can. Super close and QUICK and small!

Whichever airport you choose, 11 AM or later will work.

As I promised you, I would let you know how I made out with my 10:35 a.m. flight from LAX to RDU after my Mexican Rivera cruise this past 1/27/19. Well I was first off the ship with self walk off at 7:30 a.m. through customs and outside waiting for my pre-scheduled Uber for 7:50 - 8:00 a.m. off to LAX airport, dropped off at Delta, went through TSA pre-check and off to my gate sitting and waiting all by 8:30 a.m. 2 hours to spare.!! Yahoo for me. I also thought LAX was an extremely simple airport to navigate through. Did not experience any of the scary things I've read, again, maybe just lucky! But, I thank you for your earlier vote of confidence!

Thank you for your feedback and update. We are traveling out of LAX also soon and have been looking for information to ease my mind on our 11:15 flight. You have given me hope and I know that MMWV...

You are very welcome, but******** remember I am Platinum Plus & went to the Concierge before I even boarded to let them know I needed to be escorted off the ship first, Was up & waiting before she was even there, had my Uber pre-scheduled prior, also had tsa pre-check and kept my fingers crossed. It was also a very quiet Sunday morning so I had a few things going in my favor. Any other scenario could impact the time frame. Best of luck to you.

Thank you again and I completely understand. While not Platinum Plus, we will be sailing in the Haven and have high hopes that this will help increase the odds of an assisted early departure, so thank you for clarifying.

You are most very welcome, glad to help. As a Haven guest you will certainly have priority disembarkation, just let them know asap. Have a wonderful trip.

glad you had a good experience; this is not always the situation at LAX. It can be a nightmare. I lived many years in Los Angeles and cant even count the number of times I have flown in and out. The last time was about a year ago.
