Information about BREEZE

Planning a M&G for a large group and since I need to plan ahead I need to know if Breeze has a Sports Bar connected to the casino. I know we can probably get a room from Carnival but that wouldn't happen until we board the ship and with over 100 people and no way of contacting them,I need to find a place ahead of time. I looked at the diagram of the ship but it doesn't show anything...Appreciate any help you can give me.

That will probably be tough if you're meeting up as soon as you get on the ship. Maybe you can meet at the Lanai on the Promenade Deck (5th floor). It's outside, but has great seating with umbrellas, etc. Might be a good first meet spot as most people will be walking the inside of the ship. Just a thought

Ocean plaza is L shaped, one part is directly between the 2 outdoor lanai areas and then it wraps around. Or if you could get the piano bar opened up that would hold as many people as the red frog pub or maybe more....or if they won't open that for you there is some space just in front of the piano bar but I don't remember if it's big enough for even half that many people.

But with all of the people that will be trying to find places to sit with their baggage I agree with LCTXcruiser that outside may be a better bet. There is more space on deck 5 than anywhere else that i can think of...besides the casino....is that a possibility?

(Add) I just realized that you will probably want to have the m&g after the cabins open up so that could make it a lot easier.

Not to be a downer but don't be surprised if only 25 show up out of that 100. That has been my experience. Lots sign up for it but very few show up. Especially if it's planned for right away after you board or during sail away.

I agree with RWolver672. Only a handfull will probably show up; especially if you have first time cruisers who will not know what or where you are talking about.

I know its more work but just keep everyone posted via email and facebook chats. Funny how the group will eventually figure it out. Have fun and happy sailing.

Patrick,

It has been been a few years since I was on the Breeze but if I recall correctly, there is a night club on board. The only time the ship officially uses it is at night.

I am sure if you request the use of it during the day for a Meet and Greet, they will be willing to assign it to you.

Several years ago, I organized a M& G on snother ship and had contacted someone at Carnival to arrange all this ahead of time. An events co ordinator contacted me on board and everything went smoothly

YES nightclub, don't remember about Breeze but on Magic there is a big one on deck 5 beside the Red Frog pub, between there and the piano bar. LOTS of space, and during the day it was always open/empty except once or twice when a special function was going on.

(add) and on deck 4 I think there are 2 other clubs for different age groups, and if you can get one of those it may be a little more quiet and less busy than on deck 5.

Thanks for all the ideas. I have it planned for the next day (sea day) @ 10;30 AM. I did send the events dept. a note asking for a room but nothing back so far...The nightclub sounds ideal but maybe without permission I'll look into deck 5 outside. Thanks again.

Just came back from the Breeze. The Liquid Nightclub was typically empty during the day, you may be able to get it reserved for your M&G on the morning of day 2.

The lanais that are on deck 5 on either side of midships have good seating but may be hard to seat more than 30-40.

If you want something the first night and people don't mind standing, you could try the aft area of Deck 5. It's mostly out of the wind, not that noisy, and you could get dozens back there. Just have them stop by a convenient bar on the way.

I have been involved with planning a Meet & Greet on three previous cruises. One of them was on the Breeze, but it was for later in the evening on the first night of our cruise. Our social media group had approximately 300 members. It was decided that we would have our M&G by the Aft pool. There is a bar there, and the Pizza Pirate is there too. Since it is a public place, we could not block it off for a private event. Since so many had purchased Cheers, no one wanted to pay extra for a private cocktail party. Approximately half (maybe a little more) of the group showed up. We had even invited our CD (Matt Mitchum) to the M&G, and he was able to stop by for a little while.

You're wise to plan well ahead of time. Here are a few things to keep in mind. If you want to have a private Meet & Greet arranged through Carnival, you'll need at least 20 people. If any of those wishing to attend have purchased the Cheers package, Cheers does not include a private function such as a M&G. If you want to have it on Embarkation Day, your best bet will be in the evening (maybe around 9:00 p.m.) However, there may be some that won't show up because they have a late reservation in the steakhouse, or because they want to go to the "Welcome Aboard" show, or some other plans. Whatever you decide to do, discuss it well ahead of time with everyone on your roll call. Even if everyone says they'll be there, you can count on maybe a third (or less) actually showing up. You might also suggest that everyone in your group wear colored Mardi Gras type beads (red, green, gold or whatever color you all agree on) on Embarkation Day. That way, even if everyone doesn't make it to the M&G, at least you'll be able to hopefully meet and say "hello" to others in your group prior to the Muster Drill.
