ajcruise Posted January 5, 2006 #1 Share Posted January 5, 2006 Well, I've got my toga made and I'm almost packed for our 1/8 Meditteranea cruise. As I was counting how many evening outfits I had packed, I wondered if people wore their togas to dinner the night of the party? Or, do they first put them on after dinner. I have late seating...I'd prefer to put my toga on pre-dinner and drinks!;)
Cruise4Andy Posted January 5, 2006 #2 Share Posted January 5, 2006 We always put our togas on BEFORE dinner... just way too much fun, watching all the togas in the dining room, the casino, bars, etc... Just be careful what to wear underneath, especially when you go on deck outside and it's windy... LOL LOL LOL ;-) Do it like the Romans do... ;-) Have fun and Happy Cruising! Snowblind Posted January 5, 2006 #3 Share Posted January 5, 2006 Hi ajcruise, We had late seating and wore our togas to dinner. We used the sheets provided and brought some accessories with us, bracelets, belts, etc. It was a little tough keeping the sheets in the right places, but we brought some safety pins just in case.:) To be sure to get to the amateur show on time after dinner, it would be better to be in your toga already. Happy Cruising:)
ajcruise Posted January 5, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted January 5, 2006  OOooooo, didn't think about the party being out on deck. That's a good point, better bring more safety pins along! I'm glad to hear that others wear the togas to dinner. Didn't want to be the only one!;)
hadleys9538 Posted January 5, 2006 #5 Share Posted January 5, 2006 Our family of four all wore our beloved togas to dinner and had them on for the remainder of the evening. It was such a great time. Toga! Toga!

mtl kid Posted January 6, 2006 #9 Share Posted January 6, 2006 Andy, or should I say Ceasar...that is one authentic looking toga. My wife went all out as well. Before the cruise she went to the seamstress to have hers done.....I tell you she had me call her Cleopatra for the entire week. My wife it takes so little to make her so happy! wardidaho Posted January 14, 2006 #10 Share Posted January 14, 2006 You guys look great in your Togas, it sounds like a blast, thanks for sharing! :D From what you saw, did kids get into the Toga attire as well? Another question: Are there other them nights on the Costa Caribbean cruises - I've seen posts about Italian night (red, green & white), etc... Gotta go prepared! :o Thanks for your info! csk Posted January 14, 2006 #12 Share Posted January 14, 2006 we are going on our first Costa cruise in a couple of weeks, my question, does most everyone were the toga on the last night, because there is no way my husband will wear one, will we be outcasts, been kind of worried about that. Thanks
hadleys9538 Posted January 14, 2006 #13 Share Posted January 14, 2006 Nah! It was about 50 to 75% on our sailing that that wore one. It's fine one way or the other. Our whole family wore ours to dinner, but DD changed out of hers afterward, because she was in the kids talent show. It's fine either way. You'll have a great time.
