However when there is more ship availability to play with, last minute cruise bookings are more likely to sell cheaper interior/ocean view rooms - so having some of those available before the suites etc are filled first can also be profitable for the cruiseline. But then to make things even more confusing, since the upgrades of inside/ocean view happened a few days ago - for several days on NCL and 3rd party sites - inside/ocean view rooms have not been available for purchase.... showing sold out - given they just upgraded a bunch of these people that seems odd - though what is also likely at play is the people who booked a sail-away rate - NCL upgraded inside rooms that paid a pick-your-room rate, to make room for all the sail-away-rate inside rooms they sold. Again much conjecture and anybody's guess, upgrades as you see described throughout this thread are complicated 🙂 I noticed that your sailing (1/17) isn't even showing up anymore on NCL this morning so I'm guessing it's sold out? Did anyone get an upgrade that you know of?

NCL has been doing site maintenance so the sailing often disappears and then comes back...

mwolever #1954 Posted January 11 Hi All, Has anyone noticed that categories normally show as "sold out" but when they get in to normal upgrade time, certain categories start showing as "not available." Thoughts? are those potentially being processed through upgrades? A day or two later they will also show as "sold out." Seems reasonable, but I'm just curious if people have also noticed.
eternalspira #1955 Posted January 11 Bid $200 pp for a balcony from oceanview on the NCL Spirit 01/13 sailing. Just got notification that the upgrade wasn't accepted.
QueenOfZoom #1956 Posted January 11 Sailing on Breakaway 1/1, 10 days. Comped inside thru CAS, paid upgrade to BA. Put bids on H2, H3, H4, H5, H7, and H9. Just got the acceptance email for H5. $1020 per person which fell in mid fair range.

Checked on occupancy and both categories are 90% EMPTY so far. I know that it is 8 weeks until sailing but both bids are in the upper level of POOR or lower level of FAIR offers. Might decide to increase the bids if more cabins get occupied. Hi. How do you check the occupancy of a cruise?

I will say, I found out about them through this thread, so if you go back to some older posts you might be able to figure it out. Sorry I can't be more helpful, just don't want to get myself banned!
imakemistaeks #1962 Posted January 12 On the Breakaway sailing for 1/17. Had a guaranteed oceanview. Put bids for everything offered. Ended up getting upgraded to a Mini Suite with Balcony for $75pp ($150 total) which was in the low "POOR" range. Got our confirmation yesterday (6 days prior to sailing)

I just received my upgrade email. I am currently booked in a Mini-Suite with Large Balcony, so my upgrade options are all Haven. I am considering bidding on a H9 (Spa Haven Suite) or a H6 (Haven Aft Facing Balcony). H9's are starting at $500 and H6's are starting at $750. Any luck with anyone obtaining success on the lower end of the scale? I'm not sure how full the Panama Canal transit is currently. We are also on this sailing, but did not receive the offer to bid. We booked through NCL, CAS (casino at sea). We currently have a spa mini-suite, and would be thrilled to bid for a H9 at those starting bids. Not sure why we didn't get the offer, other than, we booked this sailing 2 years ago, and rates have gone way up since then. Any chance we could still get an offer to bid after the initial ones went out a few days ago? Any idea why we would not have received an offer? The spa mini-suites have been sold out for months - up until about a week ago and 2 opened up. The last I checked, there were 10 haven rooms available across all categories.

Have you checked to see if you have the banner when you log into My NCL? Or the messages in your Message Center in My NCL? Sometimes people don't receive an email. I haven't heard of anyone booking through NCL and/or CAS and not getting a chance to bid. There was a stretch there where people in Spa rooms couldn't bid, but I believe that's been resolved.

Should I call to check on it? But, who would I call?

Hooked Already #1967 Posted January 12 I'm on the 1/17 Breakaway sailing. Yesterday when I checked I showed 3 expired bids and 1 Processing. When I checked later in the evening they were all set back to pending. Not sure what that is about. But I was really bummed out.
CVA34 #1968 Posted January 12 (edited) Might try your email that NCL has for you when you first placed your bid, they usually send a conformation letter for your bid. There is a link to modify or cancel your bid Edited January 12 by CVA34 additional info
Hooked Already #1969 Posted January 12 I used the email link to check in, and that's when I show the processing for 1 of the bids. I Did check my credit Card and there was no sign of activity. There is still time left, maybe I will get lucky. Either way I get to spend 2 nights in New Orleans and then the 10 day cruise. Life Is Good. By the way does anyone know if upgrades are ever processed on the weekends?
cjbx #1970 Posted January 12 I received an offer to bid on our upcoming cruise in March. The form consisted of a sliding bar starting at the lowest acceptable bid and going up from there. There was no advice as to whether the bid was good, bad or indifferent. This is a bid for a higher category suite. Are things done differently for suites?

When you move the slider a pointer moves on the peacock as shown in these graphics.
cjbx #1972 Posted January 12 Thanks. I used my phone when I first got the offer. I found the dial by going into the modify offer section.

Hooked Already #1974 Posted January 12 The one that showed as processing was for a standard balcony from an ocean view for $110.00 per person. then it reset to pending. Another person on the same cruise went from a ocean view to a balcony for $75.00 per person yesterday. It must really just be a roll of the dice I guess.

Now the banner sporadically comes up on MYNCL.
