Royal Caribbean Fights Back!

I wonder, did Security ever actually respond to the noise complaint? I am guessing security would be assigned to particular areas and it seems likely that any of the security team working that particular shift would have had some common knowledge about calls that were coming in and events that were occuring.

There is so many comments about all of this, but from what I have seen both neibors claim to have seen security at the room, I would presume that it was not the same time as there was no mention of that, in one statement RCCL say that " they were simply responding to a noise complaint and did not enter" ( I presume this is when the officer seen them) and in another they opened the room and "found nothing out of order" this would have been the secound, with Mr Lawyer.

Although not specifically called out in the RCCL statement, let's assume that security personnel were there twice. Once when they responded to the noise complaint, and once when they brought JHS back to her cabin.

Well, based on the officers comments about the partying and all, most would think nothing, and im sure that this is why there are no red flags. I guess the real question is what happened in that room between 4:15am and approx 4:20 and why?

If I am the Smith's I am allover this. The why didn't security demand to enter the room after the noise complaint. Why didn't security insist on making sure that there was nothing serious going on in. I think it is reasonable to think they should have, if nothing more than to say it's getting late, that there was a concern of noise as they were patrolling the deck, please keep it down due to the time of the night. Why not go in, why not call the cabin, and say, sorry if we have awakened you. Why not take it a step further if there are noise complaints, and then no answer, why assume everyone is asleep in there now? I imagine that's what the Smith's want to know, not that I think it would have changed a thing based on the timing....

I agree, in most hotels they will call first, and give a warning. But a ship I dont know, as I have never been that loud on one, to draw attention. ( Have learned a pillow does wonders) LOL

But I think the answers to all the questions are comming shortly based on the recent media. The "russian" get kicked off in Italy and the captains comments about that, however they were not charged with anything? I would say they have focused it down a bit.

Yesterday I thought he may have had an accident. Today, I think he may have been helped overboard. Based on the timeline, it appears he went over just shortly before the crewmembers went looking for him to get his wife. It seems almost unbelieveable.

I think the only way for the Smith's to find out the true answers were to keep this in the public. If they had not done so we may never know the answers, not saying we will, but due to were it happened, and all and the limited FBI in that area. This comment is in no way going against RCCL.

Sorry, I'm not sure I agree with that. Frankly, I think the fact that George Smith comes from Greenwich, CT and a well-to-do family, and that family is friends with Congressman Chris Shays, has a lot to do with the fact that the FBI is still investigating. If GS was from a middle class family from, let's say, Bridgeport, CT, I'm not sure Shays would have given that family the time of day, much less a congressional hearing. JMHO

Truthfully I dont think Shays has alot to with the media to begin with, After things took off yeah maybe he is riding this into the next election! I think the family and there lawyers doing nothing but riding anyone they can to keep it visable is what is going on, yes since it went to congress there is more in the national attetion but there has been alot going all along.

When watching your recording can you see if Greta asked about George winning money and how/what he responded. It would probably be when they toured the casino. I suspect that he said he couldn't confirm but I'm not positive.

Thanks.

OK, I will make my stance on this matter clear and any flaming, I can take it. Do I think RCCL is at fault, NO. Do I think the honeymooners were wrong for celebrating what is supposed to be the best days of there life, NO. Do I think that they made it clear to many while they were drinking and gambling that they are well off, or soon to yes. I think alot has to be said with the disco comments and this banned alcohol that someone pulled out and "everyone was drinking" Why did none of the others act like the Smiths? Both seemed to be so out of it they could tell the time of day???????

But the others where still able to make it to their cabin??????????

These are only my own thoughts based on all the information available. Or $2 dollars worth as we all know what can you get anymore with 2 cents, lol

Perhaps they (not the Smiths) were more used to drinking this potent stuff so they could handle it better. Or they were feeding it to the Smiths and holding back themselves?

No flaming here.

The second comment sounds more fitting based on the information available!

If it was me, I'd push it to the max too. Anyone I knew, any avenue to get the attention including using the media. It truly is a sad story.

I agree, if it were my family, I would certainly want answers and would do anything to get the closure every family experiencing a tragedy wants and deserves. My point, which I probably didn't make clear initially, is that because the Smiths are wealthy and have political connections, I believe the FBI would be pursuing this without the media circus of JHS, the Smith family, and their attorneys. I think any other average family would need to pursue the media (as in the Amy Bradley story and their recent appearance on Dr Phil) to keep the spotlight, and the resources, focused on their family's case. I don't think the Smith's need to be so public to get the answers they are seeking. Once again, jmo.

I checked my tape on the Greta show. Nothing about winning money at the casino. It did not say whether the same security guard who went to the cabin to check the noise complaint was the same one who went back to see if anyone was in the cabin to go get Jennifer when she was found passed out. They did have security with Jennifer and sent more to the cabin to find someone to come get her.

As far as the family wanting answers yes keep it in the news but do not tell lies as to what happened. Also if you want answers why cut off communications with the cruiseline in the first few hours, which Bree smith did.

As far as going into the room would you want someone busting into your room after it got quiet. I do not think so.

As far as it being a murder, I do not believe it. George was upset that his wife was not in the room and he could not find her. He could have gone out to the balcony for fresh air sat on the balcony railing and fell. Remember he was drinking and could not get back to his room himself and neither could his wife.

Royal Caribbean acted accordingly and did everything right.

I would also like to hear the Smith's tell why he was murdered and also what is up with them saying all this blood was in the room. How did they know that. I heard there was only a few drops of blood. George could have hit his nose or something and bled alittle. Also if there was as much blood in the room that it could have been a murder, why did Jennifer smith not see it and report it.

Well we will see what Dr Lee's says on Greta tomorrow night and Jennifer Smith on Oprah on Wed.

I agree with most of what you said. But before we conclude a conspiracy of the Smiths being "slipped a Mickey," as my dear old mother used to say, let's look at another possibility. Perhaps, the others in the group simply stopped drinking before they reached the extent of intoxication experienced by the Smiths. I know, on occasion, I will cut myself off while others in my party will keep on drinking. I've had to help hubby back home once or twice when he overdid a bit. Of course, we are all speculating and it is certainly possible that the others in their posse had every intention of getting them blasted and taking advantage to steal or something worse. Wish the FBI would conclude their investigation and let us all in on what they--with ALL the information and evidence--conclude. :D

Ken, no offense, but if they were trying to play the "rich kids", then why were they staying in a D1? It would be obvious to me that they did not have that much money. If they did, wouldn't they have been in a GS or above? I'd think they would be. Also, murder is not typically decided on what people will have in the future either.

That one really confused me, too. Why cut yourself off from your best, if not only, source of information?

As far as going into the room would you want someone busting into your room after it got quiet. I do not think so.

Especially if you had just passed out in your bed. :)

As far as it being a murder, I do not believe it. George was upset that his wife was not in the room and he could not find her. He could have gone out to the balcony for fresh air sat on the balcony railing and fell. Remember he was drinking and could not get back to his room himself and neither could his wife.

Excellent point. And I have to say I am really leaning towards that--or aliens! ;)

The Smiths do not want to accept the possibility that their son could have made a mistake. I see this in other parents all the time. "Not my child" mentality. Rampant in Fairfield County, trust me.

As far as the "all that blood" statement. It could have come from the rumour mill. Or it could be an exaggeration by the Smiths to draw more attention and make RCI look bad. Or it could be a blatant lie.

Well we will see what Dr Lee's says on Greta tomorrow night and Jennifer Smith on Oprah on Wed.

Really looking forward to seeing Jennifer on Oprah. Hoping she asks some really hard questions.

I wonder if Jennifer paid the on board account. Boy would I hate to see that bill.

I just read somewhere (don't remember where though) in my travels that Jennifer said there was no money in George's wallet when it was returned to her. Hmmmmmmmmmmm.

Those are very valid points. A D-1 certainly does not scream I have $$$ in my stateroom.

BTW, very nice picture.

Yes, and she also said RC left her alone on the pier with her belongings shoved into plastic bags and we know that's not true. I think she also initially said they did not return his wallet to her and she had no money or credit cards and no way to get home. I really don't find her credible at this point.

Maybe this was covered earlier, but if he jumped/fell overboard and hit the canopy, shouldn't someone closer to the canopy have heard the noise?

I wondered that too, since there are cabins right in front of where the blood is. You'd think they would have heard it, and seen him...unless they were heavy sleepers...
