Just saw Fox latest. One thing surprised me - they said that 2 of the 3 "teens/men/Russians/whatever descriptive word" have refused to speak to the FBI and "lawyered up." Am I crazy? Can you really refuse to speak to the FBI? They also said the 3rd one has given inconsistent statements. Sorry - not a fan of the 5th Amendment - they know something. Maybe their parents and the Dutch kid in Aruba's father went to the same parenting school.

Don't want to make this thread go poof but early this morning I posted that yesterdays taping of Oprah had JS and RCI CEO on and on video link was grooms family who apparently stated that they are not in contact with JS as they believe she either knows more or had something to do with it. Don't know when this particular show will air but it was titled something along the lines of "Newsmakers". A friend was at the taping which is how I heard this.

 

I don't think I have said anything I shouldn't have so keep your fingers crossed. And watch for the airing of this show.

 

I saw this particular show advertised for Wednesday of this coming week (January 18) -- but you may want to double check Oprah's site to see if it will actually be airing then. It will be interesting to watch the wife's body language.

finely - I agree that they are hearing things they don't like. And I understand - I've done ignorant things that to this day I don't want my parents to know - and I'm old enough to remember most of the 60s! My point is that they seem to refuse to even acknowledge that their son was drunk out of his mind. No one to my knowledge even brings up the eyewitness accounts that the couple was in an old of control group, that they had a violent confrontation, that JHS stated that he slept elsewhere at least one night. Come on - their actions had a direct contribution to what happened.

 

I've always been suspicious of these young men and now that I hear they refuse to speak to authorities...well that says a lot to me.

This was the NY Post reporter. That paper is the worst paper on the universe. Could be spin if they refused to speak with The Post. I'd have to hear that comment again and how the reporter phrased it.

months ago were the kick talk happened. I believe it was Josh, the 16 year told said to be 18 year old & allowed to drink by his parents. Captain Wright was asked the drinking age by Greta & he stated 18. I though there was a card the parents sign allowing an 18-20 year old to drink wine & beer only.

 

Wright made no knowledge of hte kick tho he heard about it. There were 2 gals who were in the casino. Jen was dancing with Lloyd & was getting very "friendly" with him as she was in the elevator with the 4 guys & George. Josh stated to Joe Scumbag months ago, I think about them on one side of the elevator from the casino to the disco. He thought it stange that Goerge made no mention or grab her back. He stated that Lloyd & Jen were kissing, touching places, etc. In the disco as they were on the dance floor George yelled out "What a Hussy" which got the kick from her. She left solo to the elevator, as seen by the 2 gals.

 

Monday should have the transcript from Greta's Friday show, so it will be posted by whomever gets there first after 9AM.

 

One personal thing for me to address first, just so everyone knows(I think most do already)I am a female.(someone asked me recently) I will be putting up a pic, for as long as I can stand to look at it anyway, LOL. Not that that has anything to do with my opinion....

 

The staff captain said that the bar was closed when she left, but that there were still people in there. Maybe George and the guys were still there too for at least 1/2 hour. I'd have to go back and read the transcripts as to where the kick happened.

Fox was saying that the concentration of the FBI's investigation appears to be on the 3 men last seen with George. The Post reporter identified one by name and said he had given 2 statements to the FBI but that they were inconsistent and the FBI had been applying pressure to him and his family. When asked by Fox about the other 2 - he said that they had refused to give statements to the FBI and had immediately lawyered up. I tend to agree with you about the Post but he presented it in a factual not sensational manner. Time will tell.......

I know it has been mentioned on these threads but I have yet to see anything in the media that said Josh was under 18. Not saying you are wrong just wondering where the source on that is or if it is another rumor. Another brilliant parenting moment if these parents gave a 16 year old free rein on the ship. Remember these guys were up partying after 3 and 4 am. I can't remember what my curfew was at that age but it was nowhere close and I certainly wasn't somewhere without my parents. (Man - I just sound older and more conservative by the day - LOL)

So how do you get to refuse to speak with the FBI? I think if you say you will do so only with your attorney and then get one. They will have to speak with them sooner or later is my guess.

No offense against anyone else - it just seems like this group has been the original CSI team on this - going back to The Thread That Must Not Be Mentioned. I thought Greta's show was outstanding.

 

Furr - I'm glad I kept reading after you called those attorneys "hard working and dedicated. I did start some dry heaving but it was soon over. I had some breath strips nearby so all is well.

 

Great point that it is not in the family's interest to have the FBI rule this an accident. Since the FBI is focused on facts and evidence, I guess their recourse is to take it to the media and blame the corporate pockets.

 

I've said it before, I'll say it again. I will never understand this family's motivations and actions - they refuse to even acknowledge their son showed terrible tragic judgement. Of course I feel for their grief and I hope they find peace and it goes without saying he did not deserve in any way what happened to him - BUT PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY DOES NOT END WHEN YOU BOARD A SHIP.

 

Since I can't afford to cruise anymore (unless I win a lottery) I won't take offense at not being included at the table.

That's my thought - I told Mr Wolf "I didn't think you could refuse to speak to the FBI." That's like refusing to speak to the IRS or CIA. Sooner or later - you are going to have to speak to them or go to the Steel Bar Hotel.

 

Um we need a lawyer in here, to help us decipher all of this, lol.

was what the cop stated as time of peaking months ago on Joe Scumbag. With all the noise, which I know me as a retired cop & my husband who always checks out weird noises, both of us would have been out on the balcony checking it out & then phoning security. But not this cop!

 

When Wright showed the door to the employee's elevators, etc I immediately said to my husband, she was coming up from Lloyd's & Wright stated she turned the wrong direction, got to the dead end & just sat down & fell asleep.

 

 

Has it been said anywhere what time he peered around the balcony and looked in the room? This has been bugging me.....the curious cop, kept awake half the night by comings and goings, was nosey enough to peer around into the cabin, but didn't notice the big blood splotch on the canopy?

when they had Josh as a guest with his parents & showing the interview, first time for anyone & that just freaked me out with the interviewer's wife & baby with him, how umprofessional, but my husband stated "that Turkey".

I've been reading too many of these messages and have the "facts" messed up a bit but....

 

Did the infamous thud that was heard occur before or after the men left GS's cabin? If it was after then how can they be involved...unless one was left in there with him and the others knew this. Did anyone notice a single male leave GS's cabin?

 

Awhile back I think I read something about a scream being heard, either prior to the thud or just after it. The scream sounded female apparently. This is reported by the mother of the girl who took the picture on the blood on the canopy. Has anything come out of this or is it just another rumor?
