Another great trip!

Recommended Posts

The Crowd: The parking/pier area was rather busy when we arrived at 11:40, so I thought we were in for a full ship.....not the case..We were offered a $49 upgrade to an outside, and the check in lady said they had plenty available. Nothing was ever crowded, not even the casino. The ship was by no means empty, but if "felt" way less crowded.

Freeport..

no carnival ship in, so the port area was closed. Port Lucaya shops were all open.

Which ship wins?

I am going to have to go with Classica. Its a little more open (especially pool area). I like the cabins better, the elevators hold more than 3 people, and the food options are better. I like the round observation lounge.

Celebration was very good, and works very well for this route. With the exception of the theatre, I like everything on the Classica just a little better.

I agree with you on the theater. It seemed like cheap paneling and kind of on the creepy side. I think I’m going to try her out next summer. I’ve just gotten off a four day on the Carnival Victory. I’m my husband’s caregiver, he is an Alzheimer’s patient and being away for4 days even with him having nurses didn’t work out so well. So I’m going to have to stick to the 2 day getaway. I usually do the concierge on the Celebration. I love that suite. I saw pictures of the Classica Suite and wasn’t as impressed. I should put a question out there on the concierge for the Classica and see the response. No more cruising until next year for me. I’m going into withdrawal, no cruises to look forward to for now.

My suite on the Classica was really nice, as the quality of the materials are outstading (fine woods, marble bathroom, large closets with polished wood, bedroom with heavy wooden sliding doors, & 90's European elegance. This ship was part of Costa's Euro-Lux offerings and was meant to be truly First Class!

This is much nicer than what I saw when I did the luncheon when she first came to Palm Beach. What is the suite number on this cabin? You just sold me on the Classica. Thank you.
