Princess Cruises Orders Two LNG-Powered Cruise Ships

Point of fact, the propulsion for these new ships are 'dual fuel'....meaning they will function on both LNG and diesel.

 

There is a serious lack of infrastructure to provide fueling services for LNG in most of the world. OTOH, LNG is the goto solution for eliminating soot and other unpleasant 'diesel' effects.

 

I foresee the use of one fuel or the other as a function of the market price and availability of each fuel.

 

When dealing with large corporations, it's always about the money.

I agree, but it is still a better to move in this direction.
