Silversea Water Cooler: Welcome! Part Five

Recommended Posts

Sorry was busy earlier today traveling to eastern Ohio where my younger sister is dealing with some health issues.  More later in response to soccergang's comments.  Getting ready for the next two weeks with the two political conventions in the U.S. having packaged speeches in "made-for-tv" infomercial specials with little to be that new and/or surprising.  Political conventions on both sides have been sliding downhill for many years with little real "drama" and/or surprise.  That's why the main TV networks will only give each night about just one hours in prime time.  The last year with much convention excitement was way back in 1980.  That's been forty years since Carter vs. Kennedy and Reagan vs. Bush.

THANKS!  Enjoy!  Terry in Ohio

Ummm... what?  Are you getting your post count from an Atari computer.

Stumble......the number 5699 refers to the post number within the Cooler thread.  Below is the pic of the post as it appears on my computer.  It is not an Atari!  Ha Ha!  Under my avatar to the right the number below refers to the number of posts I have made on CC.

Wishing the best for your sister Terry, and hats off to you for visiting her.

Appreciate these kind above comments from our Virginia "neighbor".  Yesterday was the first day that this rehab/nursing facility would allow any outside visitors since the start of the Covid-19 mess.  For my sister's husband, especially, it has been highly challenging to have been limited to only being able to see his wife through an outside glass window over all of these many past weeks.  Yesterday's visit time was the first and limited to only 45 minutes.  For many families, this period has been very, very tough with all of the various prohibitions against in-person visitations inside hospitals, nursing homes, etc.

Below to be shared are a couple of "Voices of History" that I have not posted previously.  Jack Benny was a famed American radio and TV comedy star.  Jack always had many of his comments/skits centered around his cheapness and always continuing to be only an age of 39 . . . year after year.    From the other side of the Atlantic, Winston Churchill was well known for his wonderful and unique sense of bitting humor.  Never shy or subtle as he would offer certain comments.  Fortunately, we have been able to visit and tour both his country home of Chartwell and the Churchill World War II War Rooms in main London.  Nice to have been able to experience and sample those connections to his and the UK's special history.  Many more cute comments to be shared from Sir Winston.

THANKS!  Enjoy!  Terry in Ohio

Amazon River-Caribbean 2015 adventure live/blog starting in Barbados. Many visuals from this amazing river and Caribbean Islands (Dutch ABC's, St. Barts, Dominica, Grenada, San Juan, etc.).  Now at 67,329 views:

Is this elegant looking lady the actress Jean Marsh from Upstairs-Downstairs?

I'm afraid that I can't help with your question dawn.  I tried doing an image search with google images and I got nothing definitive.
