Koningsdam / Nieuw Statendam deck 5 balconies

Recommended Posts

I noticed that deck 4 has the life boats. Do they obstruct the views from the deck 5 balconies?

We were just on K'dam (4111) and our balcony had a clear view (have to lean out to see a life boat).

That's because you were in a Vista suite that is not above life boats. From the OP's question I presumed s/he was asking about the deck 5 V cabins above the lifeboats.

yes, V5124 and V5126
There is a picture HERE taken from inside 5126 where the top of a tender is just visible. The view from 5124 should be better than 5126 because it is slightly in front of that tender. Edited by catl331

Cool. My friends were wondering if the partition between the balconies could be removed.

Not removed, but a section at the railing can be swung open to allow passage between balconies. Your steward will have a key/tool. Here's a couple opened on another ship.

We were in 5148 on the Koningsdam spring transatlantic. Top of a tender obstructed our view of the water. Not much of an issue, but couldn’t see the whales swimming alongside the ship on several occasions.
