Avalon Amsterdam to Budapest 27 Aug 2018 LOW WATER

Hello CC Members.

At 4pm today we got a phone call from our Travel Agent to say that the 1st 2 days of the above cruise has to be altered due to water levels.

So a hotel has been booked in Amsterdam & passenger will be transported to another of their ships.

We have been given the option of a full refund.

This is fine but if there are any further level along the river this could end up being a great coach trip.

Are there other passengers booked on this cruise? Interested to know your thoughts.

The cruise starts on the 27th? Are you in Europe or at home? Does the full refund include airfares?

 

If its a full refund airfares/cruise and you are not yet in Europe I would take the full refund and select a different time.

 

We have had experiences with high/low water and other interruptions on European river cruises. Sometimes minimal loss or irritation.

We have also had cruises with poor information on the ship, substitute hotel and meals and a bus trip. Promise of compensation on board but it was weeks later before we received anything.

Multiple efforts by our travel agent and ourselves to get accurate information was frustrating.

We're on the identical cruise starting 9/21. Can you please provide more detail about the changes that you've been notified about? Thanks.
