We have a group of about 20 on this ship at the end of the month and we are so excited! Thank you for this great review. I haven't really heard much about the casino which is where our group will be a lot so I'm bummed it's so small. Do you remember what games they might have?

So are you saying the pool deck is worst than Escape? That was the worst I ever saw.

So how was the Havana area? Was it like Vibe on Ncl? Was it relaxing and easy to find a spot to sit or hang out in the pool? How was the Havana bar?

Comparable to the Escape..typical Carnival cruise..the only day I was there for any length of time was to sit at the BlueIguana Tequila Bar and have a Michelada, a chilled shot of Roca Patron and a chilled shot of Patron Anejo.

Havana was heaven. The only day that seating was at a premium was the very first sea day on Wednesday, otherwise no problems finding a lounger or padded chair. Havana Bar was dead during the day, could not say about nighttime since I was at either Alchemy or Piano Bar.

If you Google horizon casino there are some good videos that show which machines are in there on YouTube

As usual, Gregg is spot on (2 g's or one??) We did brief interludes by the main pool to grab a burger or a margarita, then GTFO

Thanks Ashley...my Mother is smiling from above since you spelled my name correctly with 2 g's at the end.

It was my first Carnival cruise since they added the vest option and I was surprised at the high number of people who were wearing them and it did add a bit to the space taken up by each bather. Once again, the piece and tranquility of Havana was worth every penny.

I do not, but the video that someone referenced on YouTube is a good start.

If you have some favorites, mention them and I'll try to remember.

As long as there is a Bar tender at the Havana bar I am fine with getting up and getting my own drink. Are the Havana sodas included in the soda package? If not any idea of the cost each.....will need to put DS on a budget and I want to make it realistic.

Note to self avoid pool deck.

Question my DH and kids (17 &14) love water slides. Is there anyplace near where the slide ends that they can set a towel and shoes. They don't need a lounger and I understand they won't find one but a ledge or cubbies that is not a chair and not in the way.

Re: the soda package- I have no idea, I'm sorry. We had Cheers so I didn't even think about it.

I totally forgot to post about the water slides! On the Grand Turk stop, we returned to the ship early and did the slides. There was NO line and we each rode both slides a few times... it was super fun. As four adults, we even tok a tour through the splash park and stood under the cat & the hat "bucket" to get wet... it was a lot of fun. I don 't remember any cubby areas, I'm sorry. There were chairs and tables at the bottom of the slide area and we left our stuff there. There was barely anyone on the ship, so it was fine.

On the same token, I also failed to mention the mini golf & sky ride. We did the mini golf on a cloudy sea day (it was bananas but tolerable) and never got around to doing Sky Ride. Whenever we thought about doing it, the lines were always too long.

Thank You so much for the review and the info.

I plan on getting cheers for me because with specialty coffee and water included its a no brainer. My DD 16 (17 at cruise)is with me and she basically only drinks water. Last cruise on royal I got her the all non alcoholic package thinking she would drink virgin frozen drinks and she said she had like 2 because she would rather eat her calories than drink them.....why not do both but hey I am not a athlete. Even at Disney she used her drink to get Evian (weird kid but I am very proud) My DH who is registered in a cabin with my FIL won't get Cheers since FIL can not drink and so he will just buy what he wants to drink. I bet he doesn't get more than 4 drinks a day any way.

Then there is my sweet son who at 14 (15 at cruise)would like every frozen non alcoholic option available he will just adore the Havana Soda Coconut and Pineapple are his wheel house. Since I know virgin pina coladas are not include and am unsure about the fancy sodas. I don't want to waste money on a drink package. If anyone knows a sold either yes or no for soda package I would love to hear about it.

I do know that the fancy Havana sodas are included with Cheers, but I don't know about Bottomless Bubbles. The homemade lemonade at the Smokehouse is also included with Cheers. It cones in plain or flavored versions. Had the blackberry version twice, was very nice.

Cheers includes small bottled water as well as small canned Perrier. Large bottled water and large San Pellegrino are only covered in the MDR and specialty restaurants.

If you're just getting a soda, the best location is the coffee shop on five since they have a refrigerated case as well as a free standing frig. If you get it at a bar, it will be warm poured over ice. There is a difference in how it tastes. Saw Coke, Diet Coke, Coke Zero, Sprite, Barq's Root Beer, Mr. Pibb and orange on display. Only Sprite Zero was missing.
