AARP Carnival Gift Cards

Recommended Posts

I didn't know Target offered 5% off. That will be my back up plan.

If you have a Target card, everything you buy is 5% off. That even includes gift cards, surprisingly. It's not a special offer by Carnival, it's just a Target card thing.

Well, we've done a fine job of creating excess demand here. I wonder if it'll ever naturally reach equilibrium, or if they'll start selling for $95, or just be dropped altogether.

Seeing how they only seem to sell a finite number of cards, I don't see how this would be an issue. They aren't going to sell more than they meant to, it's just a matter of them selling out faster.

If my company had something that people seemed to be clamoring to get as soon as it became available, they would raise the price of that thing. "Why leave money on the table?" seems to be the status quo now.

Thanks! I had looked this morning and wouldn't have rechecked this afternoon without your post.

I prefer the e-gift cards...hope those are restocked soon!

Someone posted a link recently to an AARP community forum wherein it stated they (AARP) would not be offering the e-gift cards any longer. :(

They had them a copy of days ago. I bought a few. I find that they sell out. I'm sure they will have them again at some point.

Just bought two $500 cards. They also had the $100 cards. 10% tax free is a good quick return on our money.

I was on the AARP site this evening taking quizzes for rewards points. The Carnival gift cards were listed as rewards.

AARP is making things hard with having to ship my cards to my billing address only! Hopefully it is still signature required. I miss the e cards.

It is signature required for the $500 or more. I have no idea about the lesser ones.

I just bought some this morning.

So looking at your messages, these will no longer be e-cards but will be shipped to us? I don't like that!!!

Yes, no more e-gift cards. I don't like it either - the delay in delivery and dependence on snail mail isn't appealing.

I don't remember if this question has been asked/answered: Can the AARP gift cards be used to pay for the cruise itself?

Yes. I even pay with them through my travel agent.

OMG, took me like 20 minutes last night to finally get the order to go through. Kept insisting my billing address needed to match the shipping address even though the "billing address" was grayed out and the box for "use my shipping address" was checked.

I finally gave up with Chrome/FF and had to use IE and then it worked.

Now I'll have to make sure someone is home (this will be a challenge) to get the signature required on delivery.

You can use the AARP gift cards to pay for the booking deposit, any or all of the booking balance, and on board expenses like photos or casino donations.

I haven't attempted to use a gift card to pre-pay for Carnival excursion bookings, perhaps someone else may have tried and can answer?
