bangzoom6877 Posted September 2, 2018 #1 Share Posted September 2, 2018 Hello everyone! My husband and I are going on Anthem of the Seas to Bermuda in late April. I am lactose intolerant. Does the ship have any non-dairy milk options available, or lactose free milk? If so can I purchase a latte or cappuccino that had non-dairy or lactose free milk in it? I have lactase drops that I can take, but I do prefer to use either almond milk, soy milk or lactose free milk whenever I can. Thanks in advance! Clarea Posted September 2, 2018 #2 Share Posted September 2, 2018 I've seen some get soy milk on request.

upwarduk Posted September 2, 2018 #4 Share Posted September 2, 2018 Lactose free milk is listed on the ROOM MENU, so it will be on the ship. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/content/dam/royal/data/dining/room-service/menu/In-Stateroom-Room-Service-Full-Menu-web.pdf
bangzoom6877 Posted September 2, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted September 2, 2018 Thank you, I will contact Special Needs. There’s no Coffeemate or other non-dairy creamer onboard right? Maybe I should bring the individual packets of that. They’re shelf stable.
lbjen Posted September 3, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 3, 2018 I asked for lactose free milk on Oasis and it didn’t look appetizing at all, I think it may have been soy milk. I didn’t drink it. I was able to get my Frappuccino with coconut milk at the Starbucks but I don’t think they have one on Anthem.
bangzoom6877 Posted September 3, 2018 Author #7 Share Posted September 3, 2018 They have The Patisserie which serves Starbucks coffee on the Anthem. Not sure which specific items they serve though. I also can’t have coconut milk because it aggravates my IBS. I usually do either almond milk, or soy milk if it’s the only choice.
Rare Neeny12 Posted September 3, 2018 #8 Share Posted September 3, 2018 I believe you can bring your own milk for medical reasons. I will be bringing almond milk as lactose free isn’t truly free of lactose just to a level that most people can digest. I can’t drink it at all. No soy for me either. upwarduk Posted September 3, 2018 #11 Share Posted September 3, 2018 On Oasis, lactose free milk was always in the cafe promenade In the last few years I’ve never had problems with either Azamara or Celebrity and as RCCL are the parent company I can’t invisage any either, especially as it’s an option on the Room Service menu. cb at sea Posted September 3, 2018 #12 Share Posted September 3, 2018 You can certainly bring your powdered Coffee Mate.
bangzoom6877 Posted September 3, 2018 Author #13 Share Posted September 3, 2018 Thanks everyone! I messaged RCCL on Facebook and they said they have almond milk, soy milk and lactose free milk onboard in all venues. I will still fill out the special form online though just to play it safe. Should I speak to someone onboard when we board as well?
upwarduk Posted September 3, 2018 #14 Share Posted September 3, 2018 I always go to the MDR on embarkation afternoon, to pre order my evening meal, as I don’t have butter, cream or cheese either. They make me Lactose Intolerant sweets. Sent from my iPad using Forums

Sent from my iPad using Forums Wow those look great, especially the chocolate one! I love chocolate desserts. I can tolerate butter and certain aged cheeses, and also yogurt just fine. Can’t really have cream though, unless very small amounts and I also have to take my lactase drops for that. The more I can avoid having to take lactase drops, the easier it is of course. Desserts are usually a challenge anywhere I go. But since I can tolerate butter, I don’t get any adverse reactions from cookies that contain butter so I consider myself lucky in that respect.
