OCruisers Posted September 7, 2018 #1 Posted September 7, 2018 Do any of you have a port of call (and /or ports) in the Caribbean to which you look forward to returning frequently?
Langley Cruisers Posted September 7, 2018 #2 Posted September 7, 2018 Aww, I never tire of Aruba. *sigh* What about yourself?
Rare Essiesmom Posted September 7, 2018 #3 Posted September 7, 2018 Aruba, Curacao... We are shoppers so we like the islands with good shops. EM
Sixtytwo Posted September 7, 2018 #4 Posted September 7, 2018 St. Thomas and Grand Turk are two we really enjoy. [emoji907] Sent from my iPad using Forums
yorkshirephil Posted September 7, 2018 #6 Posted September 7, 2018 St Maarten and Barbados are 2 of our favourites.
champagne123 Posted September 7, 2018 #7 Posted September 7, 2018 St Maarten and Barbados are 2 of our favourites. Going to Barbados in November for the first time. Any suggestions or tips of what to do?
Rare VMax1700 Posted September 7, 2018 #8 Posted September 7, 2018 Bonaire and Curacao. (Aruba is mehhhh!)
compozer Posted September 7, 2018 #9 Posted September 7, 2018 Cozumel because I go there diving often and have gotten to know so many locals (some who retired from the US). When visiting, I have to decide if I should dive or just get together with friends.
navybankerteacher Posted September 7, 2018 #10 Posted September 7, 2018 San Juan, St. Maarten and Aruba. Most others I will see how I fee that day and may go ashore - or may not. For St. Thomas, Jamaica, and all western Caribbean. ports, we simply enjoy the less crowded ship.
Rare Itchy&Scratchy Posted September 7, 2018 #11 Posted September 7, 2018 Aruba and Bonaire. Our friends loved Dominica.
Rare Joebucks Posted September 7, 2018 #12 Posted September 7, 2018 Barbados. Have not been to the ABCs yet
snyniew Posted September 7, 2018 #13 Posted September 7, 2018 Going to Barbados in November for the first time. Any suggestions or tips of what to do? Calabazas for a catamaran sail. Gina and her crew do an amazing job. Going with them for the 2nd time in December.
champagne123 Posted September 7, 2018 #14 Posted September 7, 2018 Calabazas for a catamaran sail. Gina and her crew do an amazing job. Going with them for the 2nd time in December. Thank you!!!!
OCruisers Posted September 7, 2018 Author #15 Posted September 7, 2018 Even though we've been to Cozumel "too many to count" times, we still always look forward to having a port stop there. (y) We never get tired of returning to Aruba. On eastern cruises Tortola remains a favorite of ours.
OCruisers Posted September 7, 2018 Author #17 Posted September 7, 2018 While Key West isn't in the Caribbean, agree ... it's always a good place to have a port stop. :)
yorkshirephil Posted September 7, 2018 #19 Posted September 7, 2018 Going to Barbados in November for the first time. Any suggestions or tips of what to do? The 4x4 island tours are interesting. The last few times we have walked along the front to the edge of town then walked along the beach then doubled back and mooched through town and the market with a couple of beers on the way.
Rare Roz Posted September 7, 2018 #20 Posted September 7, 2018 While Key West isn't in the Caribbean, agree ... it's always a good place to have a port stop. :) I thought about that when I posted, but figured since it's a stop on Caribbean cruises, why not. Key West is my happy place. Roz
Rare SuiteTraveler Posted September 7, 2018 #21 Posted September 7, 2018 St Lucia Curacao Grenada French St Martin Virgin Gorda for the Baths I also love renting a cabana on Mahogany Bay - I think they are far better than the ones on Labadee.
OCruisers Posted September 7, 2018 Author #22 Posted September 7, 2018 I thought about that when I posted, but figured since it's a stop on Caribbean cruises, why not. Key West is my happy place. :cool:Roz You're so right Roz ... it's a port stop on Caribbean cruises and a great place to enjoy! :)
Fergus Posted September 9, 2018 #24 Posted September 9, 2018 I know it's "just a beach day" but Half Moon Cay is my happy place. It seems to be the one place in the world where I have permission to lay on the beach (preferably in a cabana) and relax and do nothing. No phones, no computers, no MDR to dress up and go to at a particular time, no shows to decide on, no need to even talk to anyone else. Ahhhh.........
Sailor Taylor Posted September 9, 2018 #25 Posted September 9, 2018 I was looking forward to St Bart but it turned out just a so-so port.
