Do you purchase the drink pkg when in a sky suite with drinks included in CK?

Having sailed a few times in sky class we dont buy drink packages because of having access to suite lounge. This past july we sailed MSC in yacht club which comes with their deluxe drink packages. I was thinking i will be drinking all these different cocktails. Truth be told, I only had 5 drinks in two weeks that was not my usual screwdriver. Even though almost any drink was included, i don't think i had more than 10 drinks outside of happy hour. I am getting old or just happy with what drinks we get during happy hour.

Everyone will be different but it seems from what you have posted, that you would be ok with buying drinks as you go. And using suite lounge for most of the day with cocktails during happy hour. Would you drink more than $100 of drinks a day even on port days outside of what you can get in suite lounge from 11am to 11pm?

Actually I would prefer grey goose or stoli but new amsterdam will do. I do like better vodka but if royal is providing, I like free [emoji6].

I'll get Tito's if I'm drinking free in casino.

I have been given Grey Goose as a voucher drink in On Air and Schooner. Didn't ask, it just showed up

What great advice I am getting from you all on this topic. Totally agree, we would do just fine with the CK deal and just pay for my poolside Pina Colada(s) while DH and kids get in their 'steps' going back and forth to CK. Although when I mentioned to my DH that we could probably carry our cocktails to dinner (outside of CK)...he pointed out that his would be empty by the time we got to the dinner location! LOL We have BOGO for first two nights. Remember this is our first ever experience on RC never mind the fact that we are going on a mega ship....so we have lots of ship sightseeing to do. I'm thinking I don't want to be tied to CK.

I wonder if anyone could post drink menus from CK.

In Boston we call that cranberry and vodka mix a CAPE CODDAH! Outside of Boston I make sure I say Titos and Cranberry;)

On Mariner I had free casino drinks. Bartender was making me Jaeger and cranberry. No lime. Very interesting smell.

If you do get the Pkg you get an insulated cup programmed for the Freestyle machines. You might want to give them to your kids as 'souvenirs'[emoji6]

Oh boy, if you are right about no kids in CK without adults (which I would agree makes sense) then you just made my decision regarding the beverage packages for the boys easy!!! I'll be keeping those 2 pkgs!
First off it's SL and I see unaccompanied minors all the time

Thanks for the clarification. I'll call RC on this one tomorrow to get confirmation,,,this is important to know as my kids would be horrified if I sent them there for their soda's and they got kicked out!

On oasis and allure last year my son went to SL to get drinks unaccompanied and he was a11 years old. No problem with your kids going to get drinks.

Had sky class and had deluxe drink package. Hubby can drink. Me i like a specialty coffee, lots of bottled water, juice and some cocktails.

I'm on vacation, i don't want to look at clock,or run to suite lounge to get a drink. It's a matter of whats important to you.

Are you gonna be happy to be at the pool or a show, and have to pack up and head across the ship for a free drink??

Different strokes for different folks. Some people just want to relax and not worry, others will work with what they have available. No one size fit all solution on this question, just different ooptions.

For me, drink package is not worth while as buying deink when i want them. We don't lounge at the pool and having 3 drinks loaded on card takes care of getting drinks for a show. For others, getting a drink package works out better.

To each their own and happy cruising to all.

Well I just had a really good laugh that I must share with all of my new friends here at CC. As I said I would, I just called RC to ask 2 questions........1- Is CK open for wine/beer/water/soda from 11-11,,,,,I've been told by many many CC experts that it is (and please don't be mad that I doubted you Bob!) however the website actually says *beverages not included. 2 - I asked are teenaged kids welcome in the CK without adults to pick up their soda's and waters.

Ready for the answer...............1 - I don't know let me check with my supervisor...........2 - After 5-10 min's on hold, Sorry we don't have any information on this. ..........I politely said, you do work for RC correct? 3 - She answered yes I apologize that I am unable to answer your question. I said that's ok thank you and have a good day...........4 - Would you like to hang on for a brief survey? I said, sorry I don't have time today .......... I hung up and boy did I let out a hysterical laugh that my co-workers are now laughing with me! Moral of the story, don't doubt my CC experts again!

I called to make CK reservations since they weren’t showing up in my cruise planner. The RCCL rep asked if that was a specialty dining restaurant....what? Then I said no it’s part of the suite benefits. Put me on hold said ah yes. It appears you do have access. Is there anything else I can help you with. Yes can I make reservations? Sorry I can’t help with that. Okay.

Some people just have too much money. If you want bad beer and wine, then you don’t need it. If you want a proper cocktail, then yeah, you need the package.

JC

I'm a beer and cocktails snob so I'm not about downgrading just to save a buck on my vacation but that's just me. If I wasn't such a snob I'd be in the lounge like everyone else. To each their own.

House wine. It varies but someone might know the common names used. La three rings a bell. My wife likes one or two of them but not most. She is fine with the house sparkling wine also.

Beers are budweiser, miller lite, Amstel light, Heineken, and a cider. I may have left one off (colors light?) or be wrong on one. It is limited on beer if you don’t like those beers. I like Amstel when cruising b/c it is light on calories and ABV and I can put more than a few beers down while on vacation. When I leave after lunch they gladly send me away with one or two to go. I am a generous tipper and I don’t ask for that. They just get to know me quick and ask if I would like a couple to take to the pool. They are very good to suite guests.

Beringer White Zin is the most popular. ;p

We had same question about bev package with sky class. After our cruise (and we are moderate drinkers on vacation) I say pay by glass. We did that plus bought two bottles of wine at MDR when we went twice for dinner and cost way way way below beverage package. We did geT a lot of lunches though in CK and dinners there. It was relaxing up there!,,,

Same for us. We loved CK. I don’t understand the folks that think you have to have a beverage package just to buy a drink elsewhere.

Sorry but I am really confused. It has been 2 years since I have been on a ship with a Coastal Kitchen (CK). At that time it was only open for lunch on sea days and dinner all nights. I was not aware you can go to the CK for drinks (even sodas), particularly on sea days. The Suite lounge was open 24 hours but beer and wine were only available during the 5-8:30pm cocktail hours. Has this all changed or does it make a difference which ship you are on. Just got off Celebrity ship where their suite lounge (Michael's Club) has a bartender from 11:20am to midnight but never experienced that on Royal ships.
