Congrads on your grandson. You must be bursting with pride. I know exactly what you mean, my son found his niche in the army.

Loved grandpas name, "opa" Me and hubby are oma and opa to our grandkids

Which means Granny and Papaw in German, of course. My Mom’s name was Oma, sooo our kids chose another name for theirs. Just plain ole Granny.

OK wow, pics sideways??? Don't know why , had the iphone horizontal when taking pics but not using my PC, but Todd's laptop, will try to adjust that.

We were planning on being at terminal by 10:30 but we got notice not to come until 12...waiting for MJ to tell us what is happening. May be a while before I post, but will try to have some pics later this evening.

Its boarding day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK I will attempt to do a mostly semi-live review from our upcoming Liberty cruise in #6414. We board next Sunday! We are Diamond Plus members but this is only our second suite ever. We are new to the suite life, but I think we are hooked!

We booked this suite while on Liberty back in Sept. 2017 with 2 couples. There was a mistake made by the agent, which I won't deliberate on, that got us the suite for a very low price and it just happened to be available (its nearly always booked) We had reduced deposits and a year to find 2 more couples for this cruise. We all decided that it would be fairer to just split the total 4 ways and that is how we arrived at the price per couple of $2262. That's right, the total was $9144 for 8 people! RCCL's pricing was so convoluted! 3rd and 4th passengers reductions etc...so confusing. Needless to say, at a price very nearly the normal rate we pay for a D1or2, we were thrilled. The deal included $200 OBC and when I transferred to our normal online travel agent, we received another $475 OBC. We all voted to apply all of it to our tip fund. We'll owe very little after that. So don't be shy about inquiring about these larger suites, you just may get lucky.

This suite used to be called the Presidential Family Suite. Here is the floor plan...4 bedrooms/4 baths and will accommodate 10 to 12.

I will be posting from wifi at each port so it may take some time, I am pretty brainless when it comes to posting live from ship.

I will be using my YouTube channel for vids/pics but may be able to post some here.

We usually cruise out of Galveston and drive in the day of departure or spend the night on the mainland (one night stay) and pay around $150 for Holiday Inn Express in Dickinson...you are within 20 minutes of the port the next morning;p We like to be checked in by 10:30 or so. We usually use Park & Cruise right across the street from the terminal. Todd drops me off to check the bags and he parks and walks across. Usually takes less than 15 minutes total. With the new terminal, we are usually onboard ship by 11:00 or so.

I was excited to learn that the concierge, in this case MJ would be coming down to collect us and escort us to our cabin, can't wait to experience that! And that we can order our meals in to be served on the large table for 10 on our balcony. That includes lunch and dinner. This will truly be high cotton for us.

We have 4 days to go and I will be posting....see ya....

Any tips on how to go about this live thing will be appreciated. I watch folks periscope but don't know how to do my own broadcast with it...???

I am so excited to follow this thread. We are booked in this room on this ship next year. Happy sailing!

Nice score on the suite! Jack often asks when we can cruise on Liberty again. Nice to hear that MJ is onboard, he is so sweet. He was on the Vision when we sailed a few years ago. You're boarding today, and I am following along.

What city/town is that holiday inn express? I am already planning ahead to what will be our next cruise out of Galveston on Oasis! [emoji13]. Probably won’t look as nice by then..

Well, at least she said it would be semi-live. I think they're having too much fun to post. But we'll get to hear all about it eventually. I am always grateful for those who post live but honestly, I'd never do it. Too much else I want to do! Keep having a great time Becci Boo - we're here when you're ready.

That’s what I’m guessing. Who wouldn’t be having a blast?

OMG. I am so technically challenged it has taken me this long to reply successfully!!! Next ...learning to post the pics. Yesterday they would never load. Today is a Sea day so will try to get help from the internet room. Now for the big news. We were awakened at 2:00 this morning with a Bravo! Fire in the engine room. We smelled the smoke on our terrace. But it was extinguished within a couple minutes. Cpt said it would not effect future cruises Tug!!

We ate at Chops first night and this had to be the worst meal we ever had there. They made hockey pucks out of the crab cakes and what is so special about Mack n cheese? Especially if tastes like a bowl of plain pasta... service was not up to snuff at all. This was surprising as we have had excellent food and service in there. But last night we ate at Giovanni’s and had probably the best meal on a ship ever with the possible exception of our Park 150 meal on Allure. Do not miss the Osso Bucco outstanding!! And little secret. They brought us Lemon Drops and Espresso Martinis from the Windjammer bar and those were the tastiest we’ve found at any bar so far.

You’re not missing much in pics as you have seen enough already. But I’ll try harder today. Gotta get that Crew Only pic! MJ was Johnny on the spot at check in. There to meet us and escort us straight to our cabin. This suite perc is great! Check in from start to finish was about 20 mins. MJ is the most professional and solicitous of any concierge we ever had. He is truly at our beck and call. He comped us the Giovanni meal because he couldn’t modify our reservations at Chops the first night:hearteyes: and was able to get us the premium liquor pkg for $279 per person with our diamond plus discount. Now just trying to make it worth the cost. And I think we are living up to it so far. A real drink fest. But we are having a ball with the cabin. Played Farkle and catch phrase. Til the wee hrs last night. Jocularity jocularity!!! On the way out the door right now for the suite luncheon. So gotta run. More later

MJ is the best. We had him on the Vision a few years ago - our first suite, and he made it so special. I'm sort of sad to hear he isn't on Vision still (as we have a GS booked on it) but happy he is still outstanding!

Enjoy your cruise.

Dan.

He and Jorge will be trading off so MJ will be back on Visuon. The Jorge will be on Libby but I forgit when that takes place. Had a pretty big blow this afternoon. I estimate about a 10 degree heal. People got a little concerned. It was amusing. Almost to Roatan so they slowed to 13 knots. More later

Wow, hadn’t heard that about MJ. Ask when he goes back to Vision please. Thx.
