What time should we fly home?

We are cruising out of Miami in March and flying from Newark NJ. The return flight times I have to choose from without paying double are 1:35 or 8 pm. I would prefer something around 3 pm but it's not an option. Which would you choose? Is 1:35 risky or completely doable? My boyfriend has work the next day, he gets up at 4 am and the 8 pm flight gets to newark at 11pm and then we have an almost 2 hour drive home so he would get zero sleep so if the 1:35 isn't going to have us stressing to rush off the ship it's obviously a better choice.

Everyone has to be off the ship at 9:30 and Miami airport is maybe 15-20 min by cab. 1:30 should give you plenty of time.

We caught a 9:00am flight out of Miami once after a cruise. The airport is very close to the cruise terminal.

130 is more than enough time.

Carnival's recommended flight times is any time after 12 noon

I have flown out of EWR to Miami for cruises a few times, with two more booked. My flights back to EWR have been anywhere from 11am to 1pm and I have never had a problem. 1:35 is perfect and you will be fine!

For the 1:35 departure, you'll get to the airport terminal in plenty of time to either inquire if an earlier flight has open seats, or to have lunch and browse the bookstore waiting for your scheduled flight time.

Yes, my flight home in January post cruise is 12:55 pm. 1:35 would be fine.

Yeah... I was nervous about those times too and I went with the 8pm flight. The good thing... Cheap first class... I'll be sitting around for hours but I have work I need to do, so it'll be the perfect time.
