Adult only areas Independence

Recommended Posts

My recent question about Thanksgiving cruise is prompting this question. Thanks to everyone for reminding me that there will possibly be more kids cruising than at others times. Are there adults only areas on the Independence? Is the Diamond lounge adults only? ( I recently reached Diamond status, so have not yet experienced it.)

The Diamond and Concierge lounges are not adults only.

The Solarium is restricted to 16 and over.

The night club function and casino are restricted to 18 and over.

Thanks. I don't know why I expected the Diamond Lounge to be adult only. But good to know, now I won't be surprised.

Back when Royal changed the rules for the Concierge Lounge to allow children, they said they would keep the Diamond Lounge adults only. However, what they didn't say was that they only said that to mollify people initially and within a year or so, they were no longer enforcing adults only in the Diamond Lounge.

Same misdirection when they started charging for late night room service. People complained and Royal said they would keep a venue open all night so that people could still get "free" food in the middle of the night. Lasted a while, but now it's common for Park Cafe on Vision and Radiance class ships to close at 1am-2am.
