Opinions please - best cruise line for Bermuda

Recommended Posts

Bermuda is still enjoyable despite the larger crowds on bigger ships.

First thing is that, at least with NCL, you're there for 3 days so people aren't flooding the dockyard all at once.

Most people go to Horseshoe Bay because they aren't interested in exploring and just go there because it's nearby and easiest to get to.

If you're interested in exploring the island and don't mind paying for transportation, most beaches are empty and enjoyable. We went to Fort St. Catherine and Clearwater/Turtle Bay/Cooper's Island this year and were basically the only people there.

As others have noted, Oceania's Insignia will make three runs from NYC to Bermuda in August 2019 and again in August 2020.

We're presently booked for the 08/18/19 sailing. Berths are at St. George's and Hamilton which IMO is far superior to the Dockyards which tends to be overly crowded, commercialized, and uninteresting.

We love Bermuda and have sailed there perhaps ten or more times always avoiding a Dockyard berth via a smaller ship such as the Horizon, the Veendam, (the original) Pacific Princess and others. This will be our first cruise with Oceania and we chose it because it seems to be one of the last "popularly priced" Bermuda sailings with our preferred itinerary.

I am booked on the same sailing.

My first time also on Oceania but I also did those smaller ships, Veendam, Pacific Princess, Journey and many times Zenith.
