Junior Suite Benefits on Independence

Recommended Posts

Are there benefits aside from double points for booking a Junior Suite on Independence? Any special access to lounges or is that just for higher C&A status?

No lounge access. That starts at Grand Suite.

we were booked in a free JS through the casino on the Indy for December 6th. I called and asked about an upgrade and the upgrade price for a GS was only 345 dollars total for the wife and I. So naturally i upgraded. The perks are worth the money. If there are any suites left, it might be worth your while to look at an upgrade price.

That's amazing you got a free JS. Small cost for an upgrade to a GS. What perks from with a GS on Indy? Is that where you get access to suite lounge? Or is that only if you are Diamond?

Guests in a Grand Suite (or better) have access to the Suite Lounge.

Thanks Bob. It's confusing with the different C&A levels vs room levels.

Here are the current lounge types on Royal and who has access:

Diamond Lounge: C&A Diamond level and above regardless of stateroom category.

Concierge Lounge: Guests in Grand Suites and better plus C&A Diamond Plus and Pinnacle members.

Suite Lounge: Guests in Grand Suites and better plus C&A Pinnacle members.

A ship will not have both a Concierge and a Suite Lounge. All ships (except Majesty and Empress which have none of these lounges) have a Diamond Lounge and either a Suite or Concierge lounge.

Great summary. They all offer happy hour (or 3 hrs)?

Yes.

Plus the Suite Lounges on Oasis class also have soda and selected beers and wines available from 11am to 11pm.

I think I'm either a prime or signature member in the casino. they send me offers every 3 months for free JS and Balcony rooms. I thought it was a no brainer for the up grade. The Indy has a suite lounge now. They switched it from the concierge lounge when they did the re-fit. Are you sailing on Dec 6th?

That's amazing!

Yes we are on Dec 6th sailing too. We got off a 4 day Mariner in Aug with our kids and loved it. So DH and I booked the 4 day on Independence. Can't wait. We were looking at the benefits of a JS as it would mean double C&A points but we also like our current stateroom. Maybe if it comes down more in the next 8 weeks. My understanding is you can upgrade after final payment.

You can upgrade yourself at any time.
