Carnival Paradise Drink Question

Hi,

The drink package is 52.00 per day and I am a 3-4 drink person per day. Is it worth it? I drink mostly martini's in the evening. But there could be some days I may not drink that much, so I am having a hard time deciding if its worth it. What do Martini's and other cocktails averagely cost?

Thanks! Deb

Just off the Paradise Thursday, in your case probally not like the poster above me stated. You would have to order the other things. We did a few Power Aids a couple of sodas and it was totally worth it for us. Remember this, most of the more popular mixed drinks run about $9.50 and most beers $6.50 so 6 mixed drinks or 8 beers would cover the cost for day. Anything above is in your favor. It was totally worth it for us !

If you drink 4 martinis a day-- that $44. Add on water, sodas, specialty coffees, etc... you are easily spending $52 a day, so yes. However, if all you are going to drink is 4 martinis and nothing else, other than free stuff in dining areas, then no it's not. For us it is worth it. I drink fufu drinks, Diet Cokes, lots of water and smoothies. DH drinks beer, whiskey, lots of water and coffee.

The Drink pkges are good for some, not for others!

You know how much you drink, so its easy to figure out!

Our example,,,,We never buy the Cheers Program,,,,

We're platinum, and we sail mostly casino premier/ultra cruises, so we get,,,

2 large bottles of water in our cabin=Platinum.

1st day casino party=open booze bar!

Platinum/Diamond party that has open booze bar!

A free drink the last day=Platinum benefit.

Free booze drinks in the Casino whenever the Casino is open=Casino benefit.

And of course the 12 pk of soda, and 2 bottles of wine we bring on board=Carnival benefit.

We usually get 2 bottles of bubbly/wine from casino, and another bottle or 2 of bubbly/wine for B2B sailings we usually do!

Add to this my wife 'isn't' a big drinker, nor am I anymore!

We've made many a good friend in the MDR by bringing some of these free bottles of bubbly/wine to them as extra gifts for their service!

I enjoy a few drinks, but there's no way I would ever purchase Cheers. Even though you do get soda, water, specialty coffees, milkshakes etc, you literally have to have a drink of some sort in your hand virtually all day to break even.

I budget about $40 per day for both DH and I and we've never had an issue...we get what we want and get back to the fun!

Cheers isn't for everyone, but you don't need to have a drink in your hand all day to break even. For example, on my last cruise I had 3 mimosas (they are good but small on Carnival) in the morning/at breakfast and two martinis in the afternoon at the Alchemy Bar. Additionally, I had 6 Perriers during the day. So by late afternoon I have had a drink in my hand for 90 minutes at the most, and I would have already spent over $60 if I was buying the drinks individually. And that doesn't include drinks for the remainder of the evening.

Agree with the previous poster--it's not for everyone. For me, if I'm traveling alone, I will get the Cheers package because it's worth it for me. I like the higher dollar martinis, and enjoy wine with dinner. Even with just these, it pays for itself for me, even without the fruity umbrella drinks and Cokes I may drink during the day. I'll get a couple of bottles of water to take with me on excursions. To each his own.
