Barcelona Wine Shop

We are boarding the Riveria in November at Barcelona. Does anyone know if there is a duty free shop at the dock in Barcelona that sells liquor and wine prior to boarding the ship? I would also like to know if that is not an option if there are shops that sell wine and liquor very close to the dock.

We'll be in this situation in the spring.

Does anyone have recommendations for a wine shop not too far from port (or general city center) for nicer wines?

(We aren't *yet* familiar with Spanish wines, so it would be nice to find a place that had a nice assortment of French or Italian wines as well.)

Thanks.

There are wine shops on Las Ramblas not far from the port

If they're not running a shuttle it can be a pretty good walk up there. I think the last time I was there the shuttle cost 2 or 3 euro each way.

There is a great wine shop in the "born district" that carries wine from all over the world. I've bought wine there many times before and after cruises. It's called Vila Viniteca. They are also a distributor so they've got excellent prices as well. It's close to the shuttle drop off area but not close to the port.

Here's the internet site for the wine shop mentioned above- I used them in 2016 for my bring on board wine purchase. https://www.vilaviniteca.es/en/

Another store at the upper end of Las Ramblas is a department store with food and large wine assortment in the basement, close to hotels: http://www.elcorteingles.es/centroscomerciales/es/eci/centros/centro-comercial-placa-de-catalunya

Depending on the port, Oceania shuttles are generally free.

If I remember right not in Barcelona. Especially if it's one of the larger ships that doesn't get to park at the World Trade Center

Maybe the port puts on a shuttle

it is noted in the Shuttle list that there is one from the WTC

https://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1466724&page=14

this site also mentions a shuttle bus

https://www.whatsinport.com/Barcelona.htm

maybe someone who has been will comment

I've been there Lyn, multiple times. My experience has been with Riviera and Marina we've been further away and had to pay for the shuttle bus. It takes you up to the WTC area, you can walk up La Ramblas from there or catch HOHO buses there.

Thank you for posting the links.  We will take a tour (they pick us up from the airport and hit the high spots of Barcelona) before going to the ship and we will email the company and ask them if they can include one of these shops on our itinerary!
