Ovation of the Seas arriving late into Singapore

Ovation of the Seas had 2 medical emergencies onboard so it had to return to Vietnam  and is now scheduled to arrive into Singapore this morning now at 11:30 am. We were due to board at 12:30pm and our boarding is now between 3pm and 6:00pm today. We received an email from RCI yesterday. 

 

Ive read that some travel insurance companies don’t provide cover if the cruise is late due to medical emergencies

A shame, our friends will be boarding as well but at least they can hang (leave their bags) at their hotel for a bit longer, a bit harder for those who where flying in for it. The real issues are for those who had flights out.

You'd have to read the fine print, but I'd be surprised if that was generally excluded. It's not something that is in the cruiser's control or can be planned for/avoided, so should typically be covered.

Got family joining it today too. Hooped they got word before heading to the dock.

Not really an inconvenience to those embarking only a few hours delay.  Go with the flow and above all enjoy.
