Any update on NCL Drinking Straws?

Just buy the reusable ones on Amazon, that's what I did. It even came with a case and 2 brushes to clean them

We were not served drinks with straws on Escape last week.  We did not ask for them so I don't know if they had them.

 

There was a little paragraph in the Freestyle Daily about this eliminating of plastics.

Got off the Bliss on Nov. 17. Straws were not served with the drinks, but when I asked for one, I was given a paper straw. I had brought reusable straws with me, but found that it was more hassle to carry one around and use than to just do without. I did way better than expected without a straw. It made me drink my frozen drinks more slowly, waiting for them to melt a little so they were easier to drink. The only other time I had difficulty was with too much ice in a drink and not being able to get to the liquid in the bottom. I ended up taking out a couple of ice cubes with my hands.

Ahhh...The Straw issue continues.  Cruise lines are being fined for dumping/and violating safe air requirements almost yearly.  Bring your own straws. You won't hurt anyone and neither will I. I  LOVE my straws. Problem solved.  Shhhh.  Our secret...

Just got off the Dawn on Sunday; they had no straws on board. I brought some with me the first day, than picked up some at every port.

We found that no straws have been provided on NCL in August when we went, nor did Carnival last week. My husband bought reusable straws he can throw in his pocket (has a case, cleaning brush and is collapsible). He  has sensitive teeth so drinking a frozen drink is not so fun for him without a straw. He tried asking for one on NCL in August but they said they don't have them anymore. I personally wouldn't like paper straws.

Dawn didn't have any back in May so I just picked some up at a sub shop we stopped at. I can't drink a frozen drink without one!

On the epic now.  Can confirm all frozen drinks come with paper straws on board. GSC did not seem to have them though.

Getaway had paper straws as of last week, but you had to ask for them.  I never use them anyway, but my kids had some virgin daquiris and were given straws no problem when requested.

On EPIC now - haven't seen any straws but haven't ordered any frozen drinks

attached blurb from freestyle daily advising of eliminating use of plastic straws but it may be too large

On the Sun in November.  Asked for a straw with my frozen drink and was given a paper straw which worked fine.  If you don’t ask, you are not given a straw.  No straws on GSC.

I can verify that this is also the case on Getaway. Regular drinks (non frozen) did not come with straws today, at the atrium bar.

No straws on Norwegian Bliss as of our Nov 24 2018 cruise.  We brought along metal straws we bought on Amazon. No big whoop.
