India Pale Ale (IPA)

Recommended Posts

I am an IPA drinker.  My wife and I will be leaving on a cruise out of New Orleans on Norwegian's Breakaway on Dec 6, 2018.  We have their Ultimate Beverage package.  I really hope they have at least one IPA on board.  Does anyone have any insight on this?

You picked the wrong ship if you're a serious beer drinker.  You need to cruise on the Escape or the Bliss because of their District Brew House which has over 60 beers to choose from.  You may be SOL looking for an IPA on the Breakaway.

You will find one or two hoppy beers on board. lagunitas little sumpin sumpin on a receant menu with an ibu of 64 was available. I have noticed that there are a lot of beers not listed on the menu available. Just tell the bartender you want a hoppy beer. I'm sure he will come up with something.

Escape last spring had the above plus Goose Island IPA at nearly all bars.  (they also have the District Brewhouse) but you won't have that on Breakawy.

Fellow beer drinker here who has been disappointed last three times on the Breakaway.  I don't drink IPAs but they don't do all that well in good lagers either.

I will be on Breakway a week from tomorrow and will start a "Live from" thread.  I will try to remember to survey the beer offerings and report. Ask if you see me so I remember.  One thing I learned is ask what they have.  There are often bottles in the fridge that aren't on display.  Beer available can be different among the bars.
