my3sonsnj Posted October 20, 2018 #1 Share Posted October 20, 2018 Hi All, I have crowd sourced a spreadsheet for designated smoking areas on NCL ships and I need assistance to keep it current. Anyone with recent information and/or corrections for the spreadsheet, please post here. Thanks so much! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1IwhHuxFGVf8GRxIe1V30Bj0elmkPLRuQUxOpmI8LiFE/edit?usp=sharing FYI, this thread is not for discussing the pros and cons of smoking, opinions or experiences. Please find or create another thread for those discussions!!! 🤞👍

House_Atreides Posted December 11, 2018 #3 Share Posted December 11, 2018 Hi On Star the smoking area at H20 was eliminated; when I spoke to the food/beverage director he said some people had been eating back there, and complained that they could smell smoke from the other side of H20 so there is no more smoking in H20 on the Star . I cruised 11/5-11/30/2018, just off.
kollegekreed Posted December 11, 2018 #4 Share Posted December 11, 2018 (edited) Epic casino crew did not enforce the “smoking while playing” rule at all last week. I wasnt happy. May be a boon for the smokers, though. Edited December 11, 2018 by kollegekreed Thpo

DCP Posted January 21, 2019 #9 Share Posted January 21, 2019 Has anyone sailed the Joy to report if there are any other areas other than the Humidor? We're looking at booking some new cruises, but there has to be smoking areas on board for us to book. (and thank you for this info, it is VERY helpful!)
pinkie60 Posted January 21, 2019 #10 Share Posted January 21, 2019 Thank you for your spreadsheet. I’ll be on the Sky in July. I’m not a smoker but there are two people in my party that are. So this is helpful. I wonder how strict they are on their balcony smoking policy. I’ve been on Carnival and they are very lenient. We are booked in the forward owners suite. Do you think there will be a problem?

It is very inconsiderate as well as a safety issue even if your neighbors don't complain or you are fined. Know where the designated smoking areas are located and use them. Also, make sure you complain onboard AND in writing to Vivian Ewart (vewart@ncl.com) if the location/number/spaces allocated are inadequate.

Sr VP Passenger Services and it is my understanding that she has direct input on passenger policies. You could go higher than that I suppose and contact Frank Del Rio 😉

my3sonsnj Posted February 7, 2019 Author #21 Share Posted February 7, 2019 I am wondering if there has been a fleetwide change to eliminate the designated smoking area in the Haven? I am sure some people are making that choice in order to have the convenience of a less crowded designated smoking area in close proximity to their stateroom and would like to have current information. Does anyone know? Also, it is my understanding that the Vibe is now a non-smoking area fleetwide. Can anyone confirm or deny?

A friend recently back from the Bliss said there is still a smoking area on the Haven sun deck. Might be the smaller ships with less Haven space are giving it the axe. But so far it’s still ok on the Bliss. Apparently it is in an area and protected with plexiglass and does not bother non smokers.

There are two well-separated forward areas with lounge chairs -- one is smoking and one is non-smoking.

Thank you for clarifying, much appreciated! I know both smokers and non-smokers are looking to my spreadsheet for help with identifying where these areas are located, so I do want it to be as accurate as I can get. It is a shame that the cruise line can't/won't do this for guests!!! 🤑 https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1IwhHuxFGVf8GRxIe1V30Bj0elmkPLRuQUxOpmI8LiFE/edit?usp=sharing
