I've snorkeled multiple times in Aruba.  Near the north end of the island are several WW II ships that sunk and now they're "reefs" with lots of interesting fish.  Last year while on the island, I chose to snorkel again.  But they said the conditions to the north were not good (too windy, I assume) so we went a bit south instead--virtually no fish where we dropped anchor.  Other than the usual rum punch, it was a waste of money.  I had booked onboard and this was the first time this had happened.  BTW we've also taken the bus up to the north-end beaches and I've snorkeled from the beach there with more success than on that last cruise.
